  1. Hi, just got to Bangkok yesterday.  Thank you for every suggests and comments.  And no insurance to ask as “transit flight only in Manila”.
The reason I posted the question because when I prepare documents to fly back to Thailand and happened to called philippine airline for what’s requirements for flying back to Thailand with their airline and in transite to Manila airport.  The philippine airline’s operators twice told me that I need the insurance and need philippine’s pass! which freaking me out!  And since on their web site’s information is so little to non talk about transit passengers, so I decided to call them and thought they can tell me about it.  Surely either the operators did not know about it or misunderstood my situation so they quoted me “I need insurance!”   So with common senses that I flow out Bangkok with them without insurance in stop at Manila so why should I need in flying back?  And with the comments on this visa forum does help me a lot.

If anyone has experienced with philippine airline!  Does it need Covid insurance for philippine (not for Thailand) just to fly and transit(4 hours) in Manila airport?

check, for how much cover you got your existing insurance, if below $100k you need a new covid specific covering to the end of your extension. Or upgrade your plan, but if too expensive do get this one. It'is for 1 year only, not shorter options, 15k b https://www.tuneprotect.co.th/en/portal/coronavirus-covid-19-insurance

Others insurers offer options from 1 month and in the range 1.5-2.5k per month (depending on country colour you are coming back).

If you planning to travel often within a year probably go for this from tune. Of course, this insurance might come handy not only for travel.

depending when you would be coming back, insurance requirements might liberalise, down to 1 or 3 months cover. And lowered from extortionate $100k to more realistic figures and much lower premium.

    yes, you do need re-entry.

    ????

  5. Hi,  I have similar situation is that my retirement extension from Immigration will expire on 18 October so if I go for renew or extend it on the 1st fo October, will the new date will start at the 18 October or the 1st of October?
last year after having 60 day visiting my wife permit to stay and then change to retirement permit, the immigration put the start date on the day I apply for retirement which I lost about a month of previous permit.

    Thank you.

Yes that is correct. You would only need 90 days of covid 19 insurance.

For what I understand that 400/40K Health Insurance is not required if having a re-entry permit for an extension (permit) based on retirement for the COE?

After came back to Thailand and my extension based on retirement expired and I go to local immigration in October to extend it, do they need covid 19 insurance at local immigration?

Thank you in advance, I like to prepare for unexpect before purchasing the ticket.

You need to purchase a single entry re-entry permit, 1,000 baht.

It will be dated to the expiry date of your extension, January 2022.

On re-entry you will be stamped in and permitted to stay again until the expiry date of your current extension (Jan 2022).

You'll need to purchase the Covid Insurance to cover from the date of re-entry to the end date of your current extension.

Time it so you only need 90 days cover, otherwise you have to buy the 180 day cover.

Hi, I have similar question but need to clarify that I have my retirement extension which will expire on 18 October 2021.
    1. I need to purchase a single entry re-entry permit, 1000 baht.

    2. It will be dated to the expiry date of my extension, October 18, 2021

    3. On re-entry I will be stamped in and permitted to stay until the expiry date of my current extension 18 October 2021)

    4. So if I leave now to US and back by the end of July 31, 2021 then I need COVID insurance to cover only 3 months or till 18 October 2021.

is that correct?  Only 3 months I need?

  8. Hi, can we use Covid 19 insurance purchased from Thailand before we exit the country with re-entry retirement visa to apply for COE measures and required document  to enter Thailand from Thai consulate?  Of course the coverage in Covid 19 insurance from Thailand is 1000000 million baht.  Example attach picture.(sorry picture only in Thai)

    Thank you.
