I think it has, I/we just thought that is what happened. But, I did notice today, when I put the battery back in, that the orange engine light was on, so took the battery off and put the new one back, light still on, so there could be an underlying prob, though the new battery has been on for a month now.

Told her to take it to Yamaha to test stuff, which the handbook says..

Just remembered, she went through a flood on the thing, hmmmmm....

There's some guys who bought a jet ski and coverted it into a scooter, you and engineer so sorry get to it. ????????????

PS. The cheap battery shows 12.9 when I took it off the bike, so have a good spare.

Cheap Thai batteries I've use on bikes for a couple of years now.

I drink Chang so when I saw Chang batteries for sale ???? I  bought one for a Wave 12v5amp 180baht.

My Mrs never uses choke on her old Mio scoot so it gives a battery a hard time and run it flat.

I swapped over the Chang battery to the Mio with the Wave one so that will be a good test. ????

The Wave only kick starts but the old Mio battery had enough to start the Wave and after a week of running it in the Wave checked the old battery and it reads nearly 13v so it not dead yet.

    Ditto, 18 years too.

Of course we've had our differences (often just misunderstandings) when she goes into "silent mode" but it rarely lasts more than a few hours (she just can't keep quiet that long).

    Love her to bits ????

Yeah for me making a relationship work there has to be respect and understanding and a close knowing of one another the OP's marriage seems to be lacking that, as I said I feel for her.

it will take a long time to get people vaccinated if they limit the number of people at the vaccine center at any one time to five.  seems like a stupid, not well thought out headline.  i wonder why they can't get the military to help organize the mayhem at these centers.  if you want to get hundreds of thousands of people vaccinated each day, you'll need to process large numbers of people at each vaccination center.   pretty simple concept.

Even if you tried to help they wouldn't listen to you anyhow.

Always best to find a good shop and stick with it.

If I ever need (want !) a good body shop there is one in Lamphun that does a lot of custom cars and trucks. Very nice work

That's good to know because those custom kinder guys paint jobs are always high quality.

I met only one in UK when I was into motorbike repairs and service.

I didn't use them myself because they only specialized in unique paint jobs only, not run of the mill repair stuff.

  6. Over the years we have had 2 vehicles repaired at the same recommended bodywork repairshop, one for cash and another a insurance job paid by other party.

Wanted to some work done on our present truck only a scrap and a couple of dents.

Instead of going back to who we used before wanted to check 3 other places in our area, the prices ranged from 7000 to 9000 baht.

Went back to the place before 4,500 baht I was happy.

There boss gave us a lift home too.  Good news is best. ????

You are correct, at least on paper Thailand requires IDP,  however in practice I haven't seen a police officer asking for it. None of the people I know have IDP when they come to visit....at least the Australians. The IDP in Australia is quite expensive - 1 year IDP is $42 AUD, most people just don't bother to get it. $42 is 4 X 500 baht fines, so it is a matter of being lucky or not ????

But yes, if one wants to be 100% compliant IDP is required, and as you mentioned, it can be used only for 90 days.

Firstly this driving on a home DL thing has gone on for years, an IDP is not needed in Thailand if you're Home Full DL is a photo-card licence in English with categories you can drive.

Also valued as IDP on some visas up to 90days which is something else that is always disputed.

The consensus has been if you get an IDP with your home DL you don't get agro from ignorant policemen.

To get a Thai driving DL with a Oz DL you need a IDP but who knows when it comes; especially to the many DLT offices or maybe an agent used.

Very good info. I have plans to build a house on a 8 rai rice field. The land was excavated and somewhere in the middle is an elevation with a pool. The idea is to build a house next to the pool and leave the land as it is (rice field). I have the basics of the plan in my head, but need many ideas before it can be worked out to a final plan. Thanks for all the valuable contributions.

I would recommend you go a bit higher than your pond for the future ground level foundations of your house.

With all the funny weather with such heavy rains of late I've seen some people wishing they had built higher.
