For  sure, but Toyota have fitted springs to deal with road use and a bit of off road stuff to keep most folk happy..The Vigo and Fortuner have stiff-ish springs from the off to do what the ride was designed for, up rating the springs or shocks will turn the ride into a wannabe saloon racer....The designed comfort ride for a truck or SUV will be gone...

I see it a bit different than that and could discuss further but l'm going for a beer.

Platinum was around 85K baht per year but the proposed policy had so many ifs/buts that if you had farted in the last 20 years then any medical problem in your whole digestive system would not have been covered and the same applied to any other illness/system

The one l had mentioned about alcohol levels found in the blood on admittance to hospital could annul payment or affect full payment to the hospital.

Seeing as l like a couple beers found that a bit unsettling making me wonder what other get out clauses there are.

Load of Old Coblers goin on ere.!!.. Be getting to "Wifes Brother told Me" next.!!.Insurance is about the only thing you cant cock up if you stay with the Big Boys.

    Who are the big boys.

That's what l'm asking No.1 insurance,  1st class insurance are they all the same from different companies  ??  maybe coverage on certain claims are different values.

Can they they be different when going via some of the brokers.

In UK full comp covered everything unless criminal charges complicated things.

  5. Good idea should be part of their driver training,  once their competent enough.

When one of my daughters passed her test l accompanied  her on the motorway just as l did her mum when she had passed her test.

Thai learners should have a road test as well instead of driving around small test centre on their own.

I was recommended both the Nitro Charger Sport and Foam Cell Comfort Pro and given prices of the two but when I actually got to the shop they only carried Nitro Charger Sport in stock, which is 3,000 Baht more expensive than Foam Cell Comfort Pro (for a set of 4).  They claimed Nitro Charger Sport is actually more comfortable and suitable for highway/expressway long cruise than Foam Cell Comfort despite Foam Cell bearing the name "comfort" but I wouldn't know as I never got to test drive the test vehicles they claimed they have.

Well l would of taken the salesman's advice.

I've had BUPA for about 30 years and have always had good service. BUPA Thailand has very reasonable premiums and you can choose from about four levels to suit your needs. You can choose to have only in-patient cover which drastically reduces the premium too.

I have done alot of research on personal accident insurance and found that Bangkok Insurance had the best policy - better than adding it to my BUPA. I recommend you check them out in your own search. You can go directly to any Bangkok Insurance office to sign up for it.

Accident insurance is easy to come by in Thailand at most ages my one is up to 80 year old, l reckon the cover amounts are reflected in how much you pay.

Health insurance is separate in my case the amount you pay as l have just found out is on age,  l don't think Bupa would be affordable at 70 yr old unless maybe you have been with them a long time.

If l knew what l knew now l would of just saved the money to one side.

    Depends on the coverage.

For the victim your wife is the first contact, but your wife can refer to the insurance. Now if the victim has damages not covered by insurance,

?? He reckons wife has 1st class insurance l remember that a car insurance l had was termed as No.1 insurance.

I wasn't aware there was more than one 1st class insurance.

So is it that there is different insurance coverage from companies.

I was just about to respond and say i had the same and after the first year it suddenly went up by 8000bht a year. Rang them explained i was told no rise in premium untill i was 70. There answer you must have misheard and its not in writing anywhere on policy. My fault should have read the whole thing however would i have looked for that in the first place. Cancelled the policy they even tried to charge me for that no chance.

Looking around for a new provider.

Thanks if you find one please let me know,  l've been conned l guess no surprised there,  l don't think they will come around the house somehow my Mrs is livid.

The only reason I can think of with battery problems is that the vehicle doesn't get driven far enough to keep the battery fully charged. A fully charged battery will last much longer than a battery that is not fully charged. Those people who only take short trips would likely save their batteries with a cheap trickle charger for when the vehicle is parked. I have NEVER had a battery here in Thailand lasted less than five years, usually even longer. I'm talking about the tractor, car and truck. The Ford focus battery lasted six years.

Not really the driven part but use of air-con and large amp speakers blaring out,  flashing lights,  after-market alarm systems. all take their toll on and battery,  poorly serviced vehicle with starting problems also volt drainage due to neglect.

As soon as you start your ride there is a voltage regulator/rectifier in the alternator that maintains a 14V charge on the battery.

If the battery is discharged the battery charge rate is high initially and then slows to a 1-2 amps once the battery is fully charged.

If your not using other things as mentioned 5 - 8 mins ride will take care of a battery in good condition,  longer of course if the battery is older.

Don't know why a new battery thread gets into a slagging match with some err.

  11. It's a good call but we use E20 in the car because we can, we don't really think about the savings it's just cheaper than E10,  mileage differences are negligible in our usage.

Oil servicing also of all fluid changes,  tyre checks,  brake,  shocks,  bearings etc are more important me's thinks.

l am a happy bunny with many years in LOS under my belt. For sure I took a chance, a gamble, but if it went tits up tomorrow l would still say l made the right decision..

To me life is like a book with many chapters, my present chapter is still being written...:stoner:

A likeness to a quote in the book of my life l'm writing for my family off-spring.

Once a special and good friend of my said,

“ Life and friends are like a book to me.

Probably some places and people are in it from beginning to end.

Some are only chapters.  Some just pages.

Some a paragraph maybe, many just a sentence or a word or two.”

A likable and good analogy and a perfect true life thought I think.

Where is your home country? I'm British and I wish they would relax the immigration controls on visas for Thais and other foreigners. I can't think of many western countries that are as open to visas as Thailand.

l agree the 30 day holiday thing should be available to Thais for holidays couldn't be any worse then others sneaking in Uk in lorries and trains.

In Pattaya police station they got signs with crossed out UK DL which is wrong.

I know uk guy who got fined, printed whole Geneva convention treety went to station and they canceled his fine.

Correct if you know your rights about certain things in Thailand and take the time to get proof and hold the police to account they will back off.

Pattaya is well know for tea money collection on unsuspecting tourist who are quite happy to pay the on spot fine and ride off with a smile.

Read the complete thread, someone mentioned clicks and waves and they are Honda!!!!!!!!!

Don't me wrong l like Yams but when people say they're better build quality than Honda l cringe, like said before Honda started it.

Maybe a unfair comparison even so my Airblade looks new compared to my wife's Mio, no paint fade, switch gear all good unlike the Mio.

Legally there's no need to get an IDP if he's there as a tourist and for less than 90 days. If more than 90 days, get an IDP or better a Thai licence (also read the fine print of the insurance).

Wow there !!!  90 days tops for tourist driving Thailand with a UK photo-card full Driving licence, a Thai driving is needed before end of 90 days when usually a non-imm visa is required as well not a tourist one.

Although IDP is not required for a full UK DL the consensus is it is better to have it as many Thai traffic police get mixed up with what is a valid DL & and what a International DL is also it will save some aggro.

The Thai CTPL which all Thai vehicles should have will be still valid with a full UK DL some voluntary extra cover insurances e.g. 1st class may approve a full UK DL but get confirmation or it may be used as a get out clause in the microscopic print section.

It would be nice though to comprehend your posts a little easier.

Try to make an effort, please.

Well why don't people stop winding him up,  I think that's it's a bit unfair of many people posting that read and write English to criticize posters from other countries that know maybe 2 or 3 other languages than there own native language.
