"So far tourism seems up and this year's extended Songkran on track to be a success. The new format will probably continue going forward." Spoken like a true loyal employee!

Well, the truth hurts, don't it? Just gon' have to suck it up, pal. As I do--I don't care for Songkran either, like all long-term expats in Pattaya. Be great if they abolished it except for the classic Thai cultural bit w/ the monks and all.

Well, I have lived here for nearly 20 years and if my "brainwaves have confused WATER FESTIVAL with WATER THROWING", then I wonder how confused the tourists visiting for "Songkran in Thailand" are? Maybe it should be renamed as "Even more amazing confusing Thailand".

We know of ONE Chinese, obviously confused but w/o sign of being upset.

    No evidence of anything "awry."

Anyone who looks at the schedule can see what activities are scheduled during this year's extended Songkran period in the area they're visiting--and note that they are various ceremonies, shows, presentations, etc.

Pattaya's extended 9-day water throwing should be the only real surprise, but after all it doesn't go on for the entire month. Anyone reading about Pattaya beforehand should be aware it's unique.

So far tourism seems up and this year's extended Songkran on track to be a success. The new format will probably continue going forward.

What fool would want to live forever?

Trivializing by exaggeration isn't an argument.

We all have a 'sell by date'. Accept it.

Why not postpone and shorten the period of chronic morbidity that precedes the sell by date and so increase the probabilty of moving that date forward? I've known many now who reached that date at least a decade before they would have had they taken better care of their bodies.

Our ANF Life Coaches approve and will applaud if you end it in the optimal style. The ideal to aim for is that short but happy life ending with a smile on one's face during a bonk. Have the Viagra pack half empty on your bedside table as evidence for CSI: ANF to investigate, as with that Frenchman: Viagra found next to dead Frenchman. More important than the death, really.

If you can't do that, then die at the table, like that Swiss guy in Jomtien a few years ago who choked to death on his noodle soup at age 57. 👍

That means avoiding stress, notably, the stress of any dieting or exercise. Couple of obese friends of mine did that, happily ate themselves to death ages 72 and 74. But NOT the stress of running after docs, meds, pharmacies--and paying all those medical bills.

There is plenty of researches, and you can pick exactly what suits you.

Speak for yourself. Many authorities here do just read Google links and excerpts. Me, I read critically and thorougly, even to the responses and addendum and footnotes. I also consider the biases of the researchers, as many are affilitated with interested parties.

So first there's the research and then the view is formed, not the reverse, as you favor. Well, if you know, you know, so nothing more to be said. 🙂

I just wonder from where do the g pr kg Body Weight comes from, which is very difused recomandation, and doesnt say anything about comp0sition of mass or activity level, or precaution because of kidney function ofte combined with several medictation taken when older.

Dig around and you can find the research, as I did some years ago. Protein supplementation being bad for kidneys has been debunked. Not aware of contraindications w/ medicine.

When it comes to aging, genes is still the major factor.

No. Avoid the Genetics Voodoo, one of the ANF Longevity Principles. Saps motivation.

Total protein pr day lean body mass pr kg 1g if you do not work out, and if you work out

    Seniors need more:

Research suggests that protein requirements may be higher in older adults. Researchers recommend that older adults consume 1-1.2 grams of protein per kilogram body weight.

Yeah, maybe a waste of money but there is no other way to find out if it will work for you.

Having no control, you'll never know if it worked or not, unless you find noticeable improvement in your blood markers. Those might, or can, be due to a change of diet and/or exercise.

You may compare yourself w/ your peers, but so many different factors makes it almost meaningless, except for the obvious: e. g., their obesity vs your normal weight. Frustrating thing about taking supplements . . . .

As far as I am aware he hasn't assaulted anyone! He hasn't had his day in court yet,

Disingenuous lack of awareness. Video's quite suggestive, the vituperation recorded, the red mark, the witness, and the admission of Fehr himself w/ the laughable excuse of "slipped." He knew that path to the stairs quite well, abused some Chinese earlier. Credible victim, dubious perp, all considered. He'll have his day in court and be found guilty as he should be.

But he should be equal under the law, and the typical punishment for a kick is not jail and deportation.

He may not be jailed. He is being treated equally, as the victim chose to press charges. He isn't being deported. His visa was revoked. Nor was his visa revoked solely because of the kick. He has no legal right to stay in Thailand if Immigration deems him an undesirable, which he is.

While the Doctor girl knew this perfectly well, as it becomes more and more evident that she had an agenda.

Yes. The agenda was to walk on the beach w/ a friend then find a convenient spot to sit watch the beach and stars for a while.

Then she gets suddenly kicked in the back by an arrogant foreign pr*ck and treated like a dog.

At that point, the agenda changed, and rightly so.

But if he has the option to appeal , there might be a statutory length of time he has to do so, so he can burn that time and appeal on the last minute. Then who knows how long it will take for the appeal process, so there is some more time to potentially burn.

As his visa is already revoked, he may simply be burning more time while still detained in a cell, though I guess he could be freed pending appeal, in which case as you note he'd want to get his affairs in order.

Since Anutin already said he'd deny the appeal, it'll probably be over quickly.

think the Swiss Expat is appealing the revocation of his visa, so until such time there is a decision, the  issue, he is under consideration and does not need to go anywhere.

Or has a decision been made already?

He intends to appeal but the appeal is to Deputy PM Anutin, who's said it will be denied. I don't think he'll change his mind, as he publicly told Fehr to "go home."

can a foreigner  stay in Thailand without a visa?

No, good point. He'll need to leave under his own power as soon as it expires. If not he'll then be detained and deported when caught on overstay for the reason of visa expiration. Fehr will be on immediate overstay when eligible for release, so he'll be escorted to the airport unless he has no ticket. Technically he'll be deported for that reason then, not for other crimes, and that's the norm.

Immigration may also apply its own subjective judgment whether to grant, revoke, or extend (cf agents getting extensions on IO authority) a visa or not. There's no trial or judicial appeal. You aren't even owed a reason, though they usually give one.

We have a hard time processing that reality, but it's good to know and keep in mind.
