  1. You have no stats on all the past OS or, most importantly, on their profitability. As noted for the third time, M'soft planned for a more gradual adoption of Win 11. No. It seems you don't know a lot about business, actually. Besides, Win 11 hasn't given a bad impression to most users who like Windows and who have also tried it. Same with Win 10. Lots of annoyances, as always, but most users who moved from 7 to 10 didn't then go back to 7. Third-party programs helped with the transition, as from 10 to 11 for some users. No. Win 11 has the same requirements now as it did for the initial release on Oct 5, 2021. The next day, on Oct 6, M'soft put out a support bulletin to help advanced users configure for older systems with TPM 1.2. Not at all, as I haven't even tried it yet. If I did, and if I then found it unusable, you could say it flopped with me. But it would be quite usable, no worries on that score--hence I mentioned earlier I may eventually change to it or to Linux. Another Complex Question fallacy. Not a scare tactic; the official requirements, all rational enough, haven't changed--and they won't; and most of the market will gradually move to Win 11. A last version hasn't been announced and, accordingly, the end of support for that last version, whatever it will be.????
  2. Good for you. Still, when I'm out I never wear a mask and never encounter the difficulties of which the OP relates.
  3. Maybe you're thinking of the Penthouse Hotel?
  4. You'd need to discuss it with them and fight all you wish. Me, I prefer to avail myself of their services.
  5. In my branch of Bangkok Bank, only to verify identity briefly. I usually ask they pull down their masks first to compare with their photo on the counter. That gets a laugh; sometimes they will.
  6. No, I never wear a mask except in the bank and hospital, where it's required.
  7. Pro tip: before starting a possible transaction w/ a Thai, FIRST smile and offer a friendly Sawasdee, krub, correctly pronounced. Don't wait for them to greet you. Just that immediately distinguishes you from the many farang idiots they have to deal with or have heard about. Try not to blow the first good impression and you're golden.
  8. Yes. You could just install few major programs for the check. Like Win 10, Win 11 will also run programs in compatibility mode. https://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/run-older-programs-in-compatibility-mode-in-windows-11-10/ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-older-apps-or-programs-compatible-with-windows-783d6dd7-b439-bdb0-0490-54eea0f45938
  9. By travel agents. Westerners can't afford tours or agents, except visa agents to hide their lack of income & bank deposit, and buy their own cheap tickets.
  10. Doesn't the bus travel from Bangkok to Pattaya as well? Are the tourists to be locked in the malls after they get off the bus, or is it possible they may go to other places and engage in activities other than shopping? Like all the other services. Better yet, serve free Chang and baked beans on toast for our Pattaya members.
  11. What an official "last version" announcement from M'soft looks like: "The current version, 22H2, will be the final version of Windows 10, and all editions will remain in support with monthly security update releases though that date," said Jason Leznek, Principal Product Manager for Windows Servicing and Delivery. "We highly encourage you to transition to Windows 11 now as there won't be any additional Windows 10 feature updates." Users and organizations who must remain on Windows 10 are advised to upgrade their devices to Windows 10 22H2 to keep receiving monthly security update releases through October 14, 2025, when Windows 10 reaches its end of support. --https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-windows-10-22h2-is-the-final-version-of-windows-10/
  12. No. "Cash cow." Building roads, widening roads, improving roads usually leads to more business development and revenue generation. Such has been the case here--in more ways than one.
  13. Confine your whims to weekdays. Avoid holidays as well.
  14. No. Tourists drive from BKK, turn into Pattaya Nua and straight to the T21 parking lot. Central, tourists turn into Klang, turn left, and go right into the Central parking lot. Extremely convenient, with great views from the malls-on-the-beach; the locations were chosen for just that reason. In those locations, the malls have become a big part of the attraction of Pattaya for domestic and non-monger international tourists. You don't mess with success.
  15. Not 22 years ago, you didn't. If you remembered that time, you'd certainly remember the Germans, quite a large group then--relatively speaking. Pattaya was much, much smaller then. What you observed was merely a concentration of far fewer tourists. As Pattaya grew rapidly, the same number or more tourists spread out over a larger area, leading to PATTAYA DEATH pronouncements and obituaries from disgruntled members needing the excitement of seeing most barstools occupied. And the traffic was of course far lighter then. Nights would see a bottleneck at the Beach Rd./S. Pattaya turn, and the Alcazar/Tiffany shows attracted tour buses, along with Mike's shopping mall. Certainly nothing like today. The modern traffic snarl started after the completion of Central Festival.
  16. Fortunately, we may rely upon our shrewdest members always to predict such and then chortle afterwards. After all, a positive story is bound to come along eventually.
  17. Good. Then you can address my points specifically and document the reasons behind your own smug practice. ???? You're big on science, I know.
  18. But, you see, Babies never have joint problems. Reminds me of that scene in Jurassic Park, You're fine until you're not fine, and then you have a problem you really wish you didn't have. So, no, you don't got all that yet.???? Go read the fitness forums, as I do. In fact, you don't know why you're doing a time-wasting 3 sets of 10 - 12 of relatively fast pumping except that a Thai trainer told you to do it. Probably better to do the research (consult the BBC) or apply common sense. Or roll the dice: Genetics Voodoo and Fate are very highly regarded on the forum. Who cares? You were informed, anyway. I do think that if you know everything already, as I expected, you shouldn't be pretending to ask for insights and advice here.
  19. More is less. Your present method follows the traditional Arnold bodybuilding approach, all that trainers know in Thailand, beloved of fitness sites selling plans, schedules, and apps. It works, of course, but high volume isn't necessary or safe. I wouldn't do it. Protecting the joints and staying in the game long-term is a particular issue for the elderly. Attracting babes at the beach is a complete non-starter. As Steve Maxwell says, strength training should prevent injuries, not create them. All older trainees should read his Dear Over-45 Trainee… Much more efficient and safer, as Steve Maxwell obliquely references, would be to follow the Arthur Jones/Mike Mentzer/Ken Hutchins principles, popularized in the recent decade by Doug McGuff. Lighter weights, slow lifting, fewer sets & reps. Functional fitness with the benefits of fitness to your healthspan. TUL (Time Under Load) is the key principle. You may have to read the well-documented Body By Science by Doug McGuff to convince yourself of this. But he talks benefits of resistance training while mentioning HIT in Area Under the Curve: Physiolgic Headroom Across a Lifetime. Dr. Mercola's more specific here: Dr. Mercola Discusses Super Slow Workout. And he knows what he's talking about. Note that with intensity, the need to perform traditional cardio becomes much less important. So, a couple of times a week of a full body routine will suffice. Can be done in 30 min, but, practically speaking, an hour is more realistic. There's setting up, loading and unloading plates, staying hydrated, and extra exercise beyond the big 5. Attention to the rotator cuff, face pulls, dead hangs, hyperextensions, reverse hypers, reverse flys, dropsets, etc. Things not to worry much about (SHOCK) - the order of the exercises. Yes, try to follow the optimal order. But if the machine or bench is busy, don't wait, do something else. Try to be complementary. You were going to do an overhead raise. Do a lat pulldown instead and (hopefully) then the raise. Rest very little between sets, keep that heart rate up. The sitting around playing with mobile phones, occupying a machine 30 min, you see all the time is ridiculous. A workout is just that: work. Business, same as your diet. Lifting intensely is harder than that all that rapid pumping up and down, using momentum, and stopping at 80%. Mentally, too. - progress. You try to make sure that you're going to absolute failure within 6 - 8 reps. If you don't hit it exactly, so what. You did a few more.???? You maxed out and you're going to be as strong as you can be at your age anyway. - losing weight via exercise. Ain't gon' happen; exercise tends to make you eat more. Diet's the way, and low carb, high protein is complementary. You need more protein anyway, old boy. - cardio. If you lift intensely, a few vigorous walks per week, if that, should suffice. I probably overdo it with 10 min of intervals (3 x 30 sec) on a recumbent bike after lifting. P. D. Mangan does only one interval. I should do mine on an alternate day, but I don't wanna bother going back to the gym. I'm not a bodybuilder. End exhausted. Think of George Sheehan, 74, at the end of a marathon. Meanwhile, my numbers are still all good and my V02max (calculated) is 44, superior for my age. Recent article of interest: --No Time to Lift? Designing Time-Efficient Training Programs for Strength and Hypertrophy: A Narrative Review That article isn't addressed to seniors. P. D. Mangan, 68, does only one set per exercise, twice a week. NO anabolics, no TRT, as is obvious. Not a bodybuilder but a fitness trainer.
  20. Like this attempt in Jomtien? Whoops. No thanks. I like T21, Central, etc. just where they are and so do most tourists.
  21. Never underestimate the placebo effect. Seems working well for @BritManToo, as I seem to recall.
  22. It's not in small print, and the relevant limits are clearly stated up front. The "small print" myth has been debunked several times here, including by Sheryl herself. Examples have been given. Enough with the BS. "Small print" is just one of the inevitable excuses concocted by the families back home to elicit sympathy and more donations. Posters here swallow it at face value because they love their "lads" making lil' innocent, perfectly understandable mistakes, and they hate insurance companies on principle for such things as denying pre-existing conditions, having policy conditions, and daring to ask for evidence from the claimants. Cf. that ridiculous suggestion that the motorbike rental shop was at fault because it should have been responsible for knowing the details of the Brit's travel policy and therefore denying the rental. ????
