What they are asking for is a form from the Labour Dept. stating that you have applied for a Work Permit. Has your employer applied for a Work Permit for you ?

Ah yes, "Years ago...".... In March 2018 I walked into the Labour Office and cancelled my own Work Permit, simply by telling them I wanted to do so. (no letter from my employer). I may have been one of the last who was able to do so. I recall reading shortly afterward that other people were having trouble trying to do the same, and were being told they needed a letter from their employer.

You can't "transfer" the Work Permit, because it is not yours, it is the school's. When you get a new job, your new school will have to apply for a new W.P. to employ you. You are right; the necessary paperwork can all be done in one day, with close co-operation from both old and new employers, and assuming both old and new jobs are in the same province. I did it once, and had it all done in half day. Have your new employer consult with your current employer before proceeding. You are just the commodity, there is nothing you can do yourself, beyond trying to ensure good communication between the schools. The above comment assumes that you are quitting one full-time job and moving to another.

Can you clarify this re the four quadrants of the Victory Monument bus stops; the NE quadrant, the SE quadrant, the SW quadrant and the NW quadrant. Normally buses stop at the last quadrant before they leave the Victory Monument circle.

A friend advises that he recently used # 166 to go from Immigration to the Victory Monument. He says to board it at the south door of Building B, not at the east door where you enter the building. He has no information on frequency of service. When I recently went there, I used bus # 52. I missed one by seconds, and waited 40 minutes for the next one.

Based on what you have said, it would be my opinion that the school wants to apply for your 5 year teaching licence, not for another waiver. In the event you can not get your documentation for the 5 yr. license to Khrusapa on time, I think the school could get a 3rd waiver for you.

Bus # 510 goes out as far as the Thamassat University campus, approximately 6 km S.E. of your destination. I have no idea re frequency of service. Look at transitbangkok.com , you can find its exact route and decide where to board it. I assume you can find a taxi, or summon a Grab taxi there at Thamassat. On something like this, I would recommend that if at all possible, you do a dry run/mock trip, to give yourself an idea of the travel time.

The 90 day clock stops when you leave the country. It restarts when you re-enter. Note: It is actually an 89 day report. The day you are stamped in counts as Day 1, not Day 0. Filing the TM 30 when you moved does not affect your "90 Day" calendar, unless you are dealing with one of the few Immigration offices which hand you a new 90 Day slip when you do the TM 30.

Chronology: March 10 - last 90 day report was done in previous province of residence; slip received indicated that next 90 day report is due June 10 April 3 - person left Thailand May 3 - person returned to Thailand May 16 - person moved from previous province to Bangkok, and began a new job on May 17 July 21 - person returned to old province, and cancelled old Extension of Stay July 25 - person received new temporary extension of stay re new job July 31 - 89 days from May 3, so if a new 90 day report is needed, a 7 day grace period remains Aug. 5 - person will be returning to Immigration to receive a further 10 months on extension of stay Questions: Must he do a 90 day report this week, to avoid a fine ? Is a 90 day report necessary at all, since he has a new Extension of Stay ?

I have checked the pinned topic above, and this question does not seem to be included. I spoke to True's Call Centre who told me I can not cancel over the phone, and should take my passport "to any True shop". I just came from the nearest True shop, who told me to call the Call Centre. When I dialed the call Centre and handed her my phone, she refused to speak to them. I live in Isarn, but am moving to Bangkok 36 hrs. from now. There may not be time to sort this out before then. Can anyone advise me a way forward in Bangkok? Is there a True office which seems competent ? I will be living on the Thonburi side, but can travel if necessary. I would prefer an office near an MRT or BTS station. Thank you.
