  1. Paying 100,000 Euros for a car you can get for less than half this price in the real world ?

Flush out your head gear people, this is a highway robbery .

I bet you don;t even get a GPS for this price.

Sadly, there is no point comparing prices to EU or Oz or USA or where ever else, because if you live in Thailand, these are the prices, like it or not

I agree, it is absurd comparing prices if you live in Thailand and you can afford it, buy it, otherwise you buy a cheaper car.

  2. Mini Cooper, if you mean the Countryman (I had one before the Evoque) is 2.7M for the grey market import, full options. I enjoyed that car but it is the wrong car for thai roads. Evoque with the adaptive dynamics suspensions is another world...

  3. There are some known issues on certain vehicles. I mean also some recall and other bulletins. It is easy to run the VIN number on TOPIX Land Rover website to see if there is any issue on your car. That's what I did. I also bought the last model 2013 which has much less issues than some previous versions.

Anyway 2.2M it looks like a used one, and probably with some known issues, this is why the price. It is too low even for a prestige model.

  4. differerence is under the hood... it is always about the engine. For example if you want the Evoque petrol 240 hp you need to be read to pay an extra 1M thb... That is crazy... Since it exceed 200 hp and customs want more money :(

So many (like me) buy the 190 HP diesel and than tune up to 230 hp... :)

'Pure' starts at 3.5 million................... So what is the difference the proper Range Rover was something over 10 million ?? even the TDi was over 9 million

Guess is why you see a lot of Evoque about, but very few Vogues.............. So is this thanks to TATA Motors ?

The Range Rover Evoque all models are cheaper than any of the RX Lexus models here

  5. Hi,

I lived at The Cove in Pattaya for more than a year. Spectacular sea view. But I realize how much beautiful Phuket is just now, so I will move back to Phuket. Definitely not in Patong/kalim anymore, but probably in Kata/Karon. Possibly near the sea or at Te Heights or Kata Gardens, or Sunset Plaza, any good advice is welcomed. Thank you.

Pattaya is really a s**thole... But they have beautiful condominium. Anyway I have seen many new interesting projects in development in Phuket... Budget now can be even a bit higher up to 95K/month if it worth it.

  6. Are you aware just how much work is involved in making kimchi? We are talking a half day to a day of work, and that's when all the ingredients are readily available. Better to just buy it already made at the local Korean store I would think.

I buy wonderful kim chee in a Korean restaurant in Pattaya for B200 per kilo, great stuff. I used to make it years ago when I had Korean sister in law who supervised, but I think even today if she were here she would buy it ready made also.

Please where is this restaurant? Thanks!

  7. Hello,

I have the opportunity to buy a limited company which is not operating now. It should be a 2 million or 4 million baht capital.

If I buy this (they asked a low price of 50,000 about), what are the advantages? First I think I could use this company to get a work permit, right? And I will not need to deposit any money for capitalization, right?

Can I use this company to get a loan from my bank?

Is it worth it to have a company without a real activity just for the purpose of a working permit? What will be the annual cost of this? I live in Thailand but actually I do not work here, my business is oversea, but in my situation I can't get any loan for car or other things, maybe buying a company could help me for this or for my visa.

    Thanks for help.

  8. Since I do not work here I backed it up with my own money. But credit cards are really useful here and in all the world. I also have concierge services, and travel insurance. And of course if there is a problem with a purchase you can charge it back. It happened also with some online purchases with paypal. Paypal did not want to open a dispute, so I contacted bangkok bank, they opened the charge back and within one month my money back. Great service and discounts of course, cash back, points. Just got a blackberry 9900 with my ThankYou points.

    Merry Xmas to all

  9. Also keep in mind there is basically no consumer protection protection laws in Thailand; the policy/rules that govern a Thai credit card are pretty much set by the bank and not by law/regulation; therefore, the bank policies/rules are really written to protect them and not the customer. If you lose your credit card and someone finds it and goes on a sending spree, you are on the hook for any charges the crook ran up until you notify the bank you have lost the card....and actually, I think it's 5 minutes after the notification. With my luck, the crook would charge another 20,000 baht during that 5 minute period after notification. Summary: Thai credit cards do not provide the consumer protection provided by most western credit cards.

    Absolutely false!

I have 4 credit cards with Bangkok bank, platinum, American express, titanium and Toyota, since they are backed up by visa, MasterCard or Amex, you have all the protection. If you buy online or not. If someone goes out with your credit card and buy things you can report it later and get your chargeback since they will check the slip signature if it is yours or not. Also online, they have protection you can reverse virtually any transactions. I also get a chargeback for a stupid koncept shelf I bought it was of poor quality, I returned the item and they (bank) charged it back to me. I don't know if it is only for platinum or titanium but you have a protection if I am not wrong of 200,000 thb at least.

Bangkok bank cards support if very efficient and speak a good English.

  10. Thanks guys... For an American is crazy to pay double its price, I know. But I am from Europe and there the price is almost the same...

    Great smooth driving...

I want to change exhaust but I am not sure about OVER one. I was oriented with Akrapovic or Yoshimura... I want performance and esthetic at the same time... :)

Regarding xenon lights I don't know who can do that here in pattaya.... I will look around... Anyway now I need to break in the engine properly, after first oil change I am gonna start tuning :)

  11. Today I was at corner pattaya tai and third road, I thi it is S P Bike shop. They have a tmax. The sales girl was fantastic... She started saying it was a 600 cc...Ahahahah... Then I had to implore her to open the seat lock to check inside, she had no will to show anything or giving details... So stupid, btw.. TIT...

The tmax is sold 499,000 thb new. She said it is the 2011 model, I don't think so. Actually I am not an expert, but it is a bit different from pictures I get online. This one has the front turn signal lights external, I don't know the exact term to described them. They were not built in like I see online... S maybe it is a old model... Anyone can enlighten me? The price is ok for me, but I do not want to buy a old model. 2011 is fine if 2012 is not available...

    Thanks
