I bought a very good soft serve machine from Snowboy. http://www.snowboy1990.com/product. The have a good range plus I recommend the ice cream from New Zealand. Much better than the KFC, Dairy Queen and Maccas. Pretty sure the have the pop corn machine you want. Good luck.

As AliasJohn knows, this long beach is very popular with Thai families and so it seems either mean or thoughtless to start construction work just before a major holiday. This morning, very big earth-moving machines were brought in and so, with no food stalls and no easy access to parking places by the beach, the holiday will be disrupted for some people. This weekend was also a rare chance in the low season for businesses close to the beach to make some money.
I hope the vendors go back as that little stretch of beach was very special. Many times my wife and myself have enjoyed the clean beach and the great food provided by the vendors in particular Pom and his wife who have the beach bar. I have taken many friends who visit us there and they can't believe that we can be only 20 kms from Prachuap and have the whole beach to ourselves. As you say Ombra, very thoughtless to start just before a very important holiday break.

Is that the stretch of beach where the nice little cocktail / pizza bar is? I enjoyed many visits to this place and enjoyed a beer and lasagna under those great old casurina trees. Sad if they are removed....and the bar.

I have left my car at the overnight section of the car park at the airport for a few days and I have not had a problem. The gates at the airport are closed after last flight leaves and the night staff are there. It's also free to park, just make sure your on the section just past the terminal on the right.

not that I approve of the mistreatment, but if they are transgenders, they are not women....
You may think that, however a transgender person in her eyes is a woman. They feel as though they are a woman trapped in a mans body. For some it's a real nightmare and others they come out and make the changes and become free. Not so long ago Thai Airways employed transgender as aircrew. I am a regular guy happily married to a Thai lady and see daily the transgender girls and the ones that are not quite sure where they are at and in my view let live and be happy. Your only around once so make the most of it.

Goodness Chris, you have been here almost 20 years!!! Just about a local by now. Great to hear from you mate. Hope to see you soon.

There are ways and means to buy a house and land.

Give it a miss. Move up to the real Thailand in Ubon Ratchathani and your money will buy you a mansion. The airport is 10 minutes from the city centre, have your central shopping plaza, a ton of fantastic restaurants, Thai, Issan and western plus top hospitals and the list goes on. Why live in Bkk when it's all here in Ubon? We have a couple of good Westen type bars and the list goes on.

Today I did my first marriage visa renewal in Ubon Ratchathani immigration. For the past 2 years it was in Hua Hin and that was a nightmare. I thought I had all my documents in order but as I said to my wife there is bound to be a surprise. I had my banking info in order, so I thought and they wanted copies going back for the previous 3 months even though I had the letter from the bank. No problems with the officer, he went off and copied my book bank...or as we say bank book details. He was very happy to help out and fix another small issue. I found all the officers extremely helpful and it was very nice and refreshing to see the staff very jovial and glad to help out. It made my 70 km trip not so painful. A thanks to a couple of TV folks, in particular Joe for giving some good advice with visa requirements here in Ubon.

Your a bunch of fun. Thailand is full of tourist attractions. I have lived here for almost 10 years and are always finding new and interesting things. Get off the beaten track and it's even more fantastic.
Sly animal, when in Kanchanaburi visit Hell Fire Pass and the Australian war museum then take a ride on the "Death Train". There are many river raft type restaurants that your friends would love and they won't break the bank.

Hi Chris. It's great to be back and thank you. I will be doing the 400k option so thanks for the tip. A transaction on the way sounds the go I think. Hope to catch you some day for a coffee at Peppers. Cheers

Wish it was in Ubon. I don't know if you are aware of the change of location. It's not in Phi Bun any more in fact it's another 20 mins drive past the old office on the way to Chong Mek. Cheers.

It hasn't changed much since I did it here in Ubon the last time. Yes Issan Farang, all can be done in Ubon by yourself. Just have it in sequence and all is good. You can bet your bottom dollar there will be something not quite right and it's usually a copy of something. There is a copy shop opposite the new immigration department about 200 metres towards Phi Bun.
Thanks again for any input.

Hi Joe...I had a feeling you would be able to help out. Thanks very much.

For the past couple of years I have renewed my marriage visa in Hua Hin as I was living there. Through experience over the past few years I have found that requirements and regulations change from one Immigration office to another. I am about to renew my marriage visa in Ubon as I have relocated back here. Would anyone have a check list outlining what is required these days at Ubon Immigration office. I tried to get one on my last 90 day report but got a blank look.
Cheers
John

It's called road rage in Australia and is probably worst in oz than here.

Mr Leo...your restaurant looks just sensational. I live in Det Udom and what has been presented up here on TV makes my wife and myself take a little trip over to Sisaket and enjoy what you have to offer. See you very soon.

A new BnB called Pancake House has not long opened and the rooms are very large and super comfortable beds. Friendly owners and always available to knock up breakfast. Pan makes a super som tum too. Check it out!!

I read a few days ago there is a change of management and closed for renovation for a month or so. We had a fantastic night there about 6 weeks ago. Really recommend Didines.

I bought enough USD for what I needed at Bangkok Bank in Sunnee about a month ago. They had wads of it.

If you have nothing to do for a day drive down to Prachuap Khiri Khan 100 kms south of Hua Hin. There hundreds of plantations there. I am sure you could do a deal with the property owner.

The standard of written English has fallen substantially in this thread.
First of all resturaunt is spelt restaurant.
Then their should be there.
I can guess that the writers first language is not English. However, that is no real problem as we understand the meaning. But all the same, it would be nice to write English correctly, given that this is an English language website.
Now their is no need for Rascism Michelle ?
I don't see any racist comments in the above ....and just for the record Adrian, his name is Michael not Michelle as you wrote.

I went to BNH for my MRI. arrived unannounced and had it done 45 mins later. I got the results 1 hour later then proceeded to St Louis hospital to have my op. Cost of MRI was 8500 baht. Brilliant service.

I am sorry Jason, but how can you compare living in Pattaya to a village in Issan, Central, south or anywhere else for that matter. It sounds to me what you missed in the village is the bar scene and the girls of Pattaya. If you like to hang out with the western folk and eat Western food and not get into the real life of Thailand ...then why be here? I have lived in Thailand full time for a shade under 10 years. I have lived in Bkk, and other regions for that time and in recent times in a village in Ubon. Get over the treatment of being treated like a king.. you only stayed in the village for 3 days...What do you expect!! you were a novelty to some, then you got bored..after 3 days and go back to Pattaya. In my book Pattaya is an expensive and artificial place to live in Thailand. Try and get a real Issan or Thai dish in Pattaya...its watered down for the foreign palette.
Good luck to you where ever you decide to call home.
