  1. A gangster who did it? Nah, a gangster without a gun? Commit a complete unprofitable murder? A gangster has a boss too. And it won't save your face, because nobody knows about it? Nope, a gangster theory seems to be unlikely.

IF the killers flee the island, then somebody have brought them. Interview the boatmen, the skippers, here and at other locations like Pattaya. I still believe it's local and somebody is keeping his mouth shut, a friend, parents, whoever.

I do believe that yabaah is involved, must be, not one normal soul would do a thing like this. Indeed, question the drug dealers and it might be the drug dealer who fled for the police, because he knew their names.

I hope the police is reading this forum to, chock dee.

  2. Actually, I have never been treated as less than a human being here in Thailand. Have you?

I also happen to think it is a privilege for me (a non citizen) to be here, not a right. And if you feel it is your right to be here even though you are not a citizen, well then there is where we part company...it's a difference of opinon on which I can only agree to disagree, with all due respect to your point of view.

It's certainly easy to perceive, correctly or not, being treated as less than equally human here, whether it be due to cultural differences, communication difficulties, genuine bigotry and hubris or our own projections of our own beliefs on to the Rorshack test of a strange tableau. It's just an additional stress in life. To paraphrase John Wayne - life's tough but it's tougher when you're an alien. Many of us aliens can cope and even grow in that environment while many, after various lengths of time, can't.

    So beautiful written.....

In simple words; at first you felt to be in paradise......but as a citizen for several years you find out the real truth about this life. After being fooled hundreds of times, betrayed by close friends and to find out that actually nobody wants to know how you think or feel about things.... it's time to leave. Some, like myself, are still hoping for better times. We keep on saying that in our country things are the same, but in fact we are the biggest fool of all.

Oh, except the ones who are lucky.....

  3. I think it is discrimination, because a Thai does not need to carry any ID (I never have heard off any). Having said this, in many European countries EVERYBODY need to carry an ID. This for national security (as said so)

So when I leave for the 7-11: I need my moped, my cigarettes', my lighter, key of the house, phone, key of the moped, my money and now a days my ID. BUT, everybody knows who I am, where I live.... it's me and 5000 Thai people including the police.

  4. Mr. Gringo,

Thx for your advise. I have tried many things, nothing works. Please, she is really addicted. Common sense does not help either.

Funny to tell: once I started to watch it too, but it does not make any sense to me, because I can't speak Thai. When I ask for translation the answers are;" I do not know " or " I do not know who that is " or " they did not tell ".

  5. See the positive of it you all say. It seems to me that not one of you have the same problem.

"Let her have time for herself", one of you said. SURE, everyone need some.

"She doesn't want to talk to you", one said. Yes, but I can't figure out what's the problem. (I have my thoughts about this)

And when I try to figure it out, there are only bad words and childish reactions.

So.... nobody in serious relation who has a soap problem? Mmmm..... how can that be?

  6. Hello,

I have been talking to some farang friends about this subject. My wife is addicted to Thai soap. It is so bad, that she is "out of order" during the play.

After 10 years of being confronted with this fact, you have a pretty good idea how I feel about it. During the evening I never see my wife, any conversation is not possible, the attention goes to the tv.

I think that watching a soap in this way, is a waist of your life. You also cripple your relationship.

    Okay, what is your comment?

ps: throw away the tv does not help, she goes somewhere else or use the computer.

  7. Why I ask this is because my GF sister's kids that live in the countryside with their grandma were calling their mum that does not have a lot of money asking could they get money for an English Learning Weekend Camp.

Now she didn't have the money for it but felt bad so she borrowed some cash of my GF to pay for it.

Now I know enough that most of these Falang teachers on these English Camp are not even trained teachers and a lot of them are not even Native English speakers!

I think this is wrong! What is your opinion?

Yes, you might be wrong. Native is nonsens. English has 300 dialects. Many non natives are doing very well. Beside this, do you have any idea about the quality of the Thai students?

  8. Perhaps the Classified section -Hire me is the place for you...

post what you find fit about you, there is no messaging session there, post your contact details, and wait to be contacted (or not).

IF posts on this forum closed for someone wanting to hire, should also treated the same for someone wanting a job?

Theoretical question, obviously the mod has his own mind about this matter, only I am a bit clueless why so.

    Thx.

I did not put this post here; it was Thai Visa who moved it here. It was on another section, with no reactions at all. So I thought, it is a good thing to post it here. I was amazed to read all these reactions of farang people, but sadly enough also many negative reactions. Why is that? I'm happy that the moderator had them removed.

I do know much about the Thai educational system, I live in Thailand about 10 years. I have been assisting my wife for many years, who happened to be a countless rewarded English teacher, one of the few here in Thailand. I see how she has to struggle to make them understand English, so if I want to be helpful, I should teach English too. Sure, I'm a technical guy, but my English is sufficient enough to teach on primary or secondary schools. You do not need a Bachelor English as a farang, you need to get a long with the students and make them talk.

  9. The idea of my post was to find a suitable job. I do not want to be lectured by farang teachers who think they know it all. I do not wish to be compared with less successful farang guys who have no money left to spend. I also No not like to be set a side as a possible liar. And stop analyzing me. If you can offer me a job, I'll tell you all about me.

  10. Seems like you have it all worked out - Well done smile.png

LOL. Now the suitable job. I had found some jobs in my region, but the salary wasn't enough to pay for a daily travel and to close to home for setting up a decent place to stay. Infact it all make no sense to me, the Thai government is desperate to find farang teachers (about 50.000 short), but there's no money to fund it all. The schools located in the rural areas are the ones who are really in need, but receive less or nothing to hire good teachers. In 2 years ASEAN will be lauched......

    Chonabot,

    Do you teach?

Yes, or rather I did teach for one year smile.png

I had a great experience in an Isaan government school, and I will probably return to the same place in 3 or 4 years time when my son has finished his schooling over here in the UK.

    Where are you presently?

    Hello,

At the moment I'm located about 200 km above BKK. I understand your a single parent, your son is half Thai? I have 2 daughters who study in The Netherlands, that's close to you ;-) Yes, teaching in a goverment school can be fun, but also very hard. You have to be devoted to your students, love them and take care. Give them a bit more than only English. You see, in a rural area located school an English teacher is only popular when he/she can get along with them. Only then are they willing to learn. My present job has stopped, because there's no money. All students are very sad. And they paid me so little already. Next to this, I had to buy all my teaching materials myself. I bought the Christmas presents, some food, some presents when they had a good mark for a test...... nothing left of my salary. Next week I'm going to teach vocational grade 12 and grade 7,8 and 9 on my wifes high school. For free. My wifes school the same issue: no budget. You see, when your school is located outside the city borders, no funding from the city. And this made me very sad, because it is there where the problems are, the poor schools.
