I didn't read the topic. This what I know.
- They get paid the same as others
- Thai are not please with the quality
Some schools take Filipino's because they can dance and sing, because they do not like the sharp eye of a native speaker.

For it is a miracle that still tourists choose to visit Thailand. It is not unlikely that you as a tourist get robbed or you became a victim of fraud. The Thai believe that they can have some of the big wallet farang. So that nice souvenir suddenly cost you 2 till 10 times the price. Even me, who wanted to buy a piece of sticker paper (35bt) cost suddenly 300 bt. I know what to do, but do you know?More worse are the very violent robberies of tuktuk drivers who force clients to pay 10 times as normal, which is compared with extreme violence as well. And what about mr. police officer? Often you have "I no speak english". Plus the law seems to be different in every city.......After 10 years I have leaned to avoid places as Pattaya. No good at all.Is it true that every day a farang dies? Yes, I think so, an average of one a day.Accidents are accidents, but HOW did they occur? Killed by a waterscooter? Your bus drove of the edge? You simply cross the street, while the cars had a red stop sign? Oh... you taxi van driver took drugs? Oh so sad. :-(No, responsibility is a nasty word in Thailand. The government does noting at all... were just.... the... oh farang, the alien.Nothing is arranged and when there is a new Law, no Thai will comply to it. The taxi vans have a speed limit of 90km/h......hahahahhaahahahah NOBODY drive 90km/h. It is forbidden to call while you drive.... ahahhahahahahaahha.... every Thai call while he drive. And so, I can tell you many other things which do not help safty.

Hello,
Weird story.
It's a matter of how many friends you have at the customs. If you get in there like: I know it all or your wife gave a wrong smile, they kick you out, not matter how much income you have. Sorry to write this, but it's true.
Example..... when we wanted to marry, a very unfriendly person started to ask very unreasonable questions. But when he found out who my wife was, we finished in 5 min.
Visa: always ask for help, no matter if you know the Law or not. Show respect.
Good luck

Now a days I always look for the date. It might be the 1th of April :-).
As everybody knows, there is no Thai driver who has a real driverslicence. Just with grandma around the block, exam, and pay. So you get your licence to k!ll.

Good acting. Do they have enough officers who can speak English? And farang who do not know the Thai traffic rules? That's simple: there are no rules. Perhaps they wanna catch the farang who rent a car for some weeks?

Thailand + old farang + young girl = according Western standard, very bad.
I think that many people in there home countries are very very jealous....
My ex wive said: " have fun in slave country ", she mentioned the women ofcourse, who all work in a bar ofcourse. LOL
BUT,,,
Many of us have a serious reason to be here. Often because we could not find in our home country what we aspected of life. So..... I left too and end up here.
Good luck boys!

How crazy can it be? The European economy went down, the Thai bath is unreasonable high and now they wanna see 65k a month? So.... all married farangs have to take the last flight to the UK or whatever?
Yes... your welcome, but ONLY when you bring CASH.

It might be that many readers are going to say:" ehhh... own fault ". But is it really that way???
In my country is swindle a big crime and woman (or male) go to jail for a long time. Telling somebody that you love them, with the intent to abuse them, is a serious CRIME. Often victums are left behind with a broken heart and no money left. Often this kind of criminals did this trick before and bathed themselfs in wealth.
-
When will this stop?
And... NEVER get drunk in public, it is well know that groups of low class criminals want to take advantage of this. NEVER carry valubles of huge amounts of cash. TIT

At first the construction wasn't that good, so the original bricks fall out. The repair was done by some amateur, probably no real construction repairman had time to do so. The condo had to be rented.... It isn't "new" for the farang guy, because in the west, we liked to use newspaper and plaster to repair such holes. Nothing to worry about, simply get the right worker.

What can I say? This is beond corruption, those are criminals of the highest class! Without any shame they wear that police uniform, which should say " to serve and to protect ". Beside this, they are stupid to.

I am sorry for all those people and there families. I do NOT blame the driver of the bus.
I live near a high way, a bloody damned Thai high way. Not safe at all, bad road and even 90 km/h is to fast. Busses on the way to Chiang Mai pass on a regular basis, 6 till 10 busses in a row, driving fast on the right lane, 120 till 140 km/h.
What do you think?

What I am about to write, might not be very nice towards most of all Thai people, but it is a fact. I will pass the criminal events and go to the Thai additute as it is for years. It's a culture thing where it all starts.
You can smile and wai so nice to me, but there is no respect or graditude. Western people are less then the dog and only allowed to bring the money. It is common that you lie to me and even betray has been done without any shame. It is obvious that "being selvish" rules here. Regret and shame only occure for a short moment and will leave to the land of forget, because any event will not be thought over, but forgetting is much easier so they never learned a thing. Most Thai have a short fuse, you're not allowed to tell the truth, they might loose there face. But they do not realize that they have lost there face already when they did wrong.
Because of those facts, it's so easy to become a real criminal. Ripp off those farang tourists... hahahahahaha... who cares?
And as you could see in many video's, there is allways a knive, gun, bat or many pals. Even in a barfight there is no honour.
I always say to friends:" think twice before you decide to visit Thailand, you will be lied to and betrayed, you might get robbed or even end up in a hospital or mortuary"
My excuse to all Thai who does not descride my words.

I quote: " Free speech is vital in all societies. Thailand is a free country. We say that often, but do we really understand what it means? " Who knows? Does the people knows? I do not think so.
Do you like teaching in Thailand?

Hello,
I would like to know how you feel about teaching your students, what kind of school and level. I am very interested in teachers who have experience with Government schools.
I have some experience with primary and secondary government schools.
I think all students are very cute, but being cute doesn't bring you a good future. The most students are not interested in English. I see boys and girls graduated from grade 12 and still they can't speak a word English. (oh sorry; hello, goodbye, sit down, thank you) As a teacher your more busy with fighting their attitude than teaching English. Do you get tiered? YES, very tiered... of fighting.
The good students, the one who really would like to learn something, are laughed at, obstructed by the rest of the class. LUCKY you are, when you are smart. How sad for the ones who have to struggle.
This is my experience about government schools in rural areas.
