  1. Hello,

I would like to know how you feel about teaching your students, what kind of school and level. I am very interested in teachers who have experience with Government schools.

I have some experience with primary and secondary government schools.

I think all students are very cute, but being cute doesn't bring you a good future. The most students are not interested in English. I see boys and girls graduated from grade 12 and still they can't speak a word English. (oh sorry; hello, goodbye, sit down, thank you) As a teacher your more busy with fighting their attitude than teaching English. Do you get tiered? YES, very tiered... of fighting.

The good students, the one who really would like to learn something, are laughed at, obstructed by the rest of the class. LUCKY you are, when you are smart. How sad for the ones who have to struggle.

This is my experience about government schools in rural areas.

  2. For it is a miracle that still tourists choose to visit Thailand.
It is not unlikely that you as a tourist get robbed or you became a victim of fraud. The Thai believe that they can have some of the big wallet farang. So that nice souvenir suddenly cost you 2 till 10 times the price. Even me, who wanted to buy a piece of sticker paper (35bt) cost suddenly 300 bt. I know what to do, but do you know?
More worse are the very violent robberies of tuktuk drivers who force clients to pay 10 times as normal, which is compared with extreme violence as well.
And what about mr. police officer? Often you have "I no speak english". Plus the law seems to be different in every city.......
After 10 years I have leaned to avoid places as Pattaya. No good at all.
Is it true that every day a farang dies? Yes, I think so, an average of one a day.
Accidents are accidents, but HOW did they occur? Killed by a waterscooter? Your bus drove of the edge? You simply cross the street, while the cars had a red stop sign? Oh... you taxi van driver took drugs? Oh so sad. :-(
No, responsibility is a nasty word in Thailand.
The government does noting at all... were just.... the... oh farang, the alien.
Nothing is arranged and when there is a new Law, no Thai will comply to it. The taxi vans have a speed limit of 90km/h......hahahahhaahahahah NOBODY drive 90km/h. It is forbidden to call while you drive.... ahahhahahahahaahha.... every Thai call while he drive. And so, I can tell you many other things which do not help safty.
  3. Hello,

    Weird story.

It's a matter of how many friends you have at the customs. If you get in there like: I know it all or your wife gave a wrong smile, they kick you out, not matter how much income you have. Sorry to write this, but it's true.

Example..... when we wanted to marry, a very unfriendly person started to ask very unreasonable questions. But when he found out who my wife was, we finished in 5 min.

Visa: always ask for help, no matter if you know the Law or not. Show respect.

    Good luck

  4. It might be that many readers are going to say:" ehhh... own fault ". But is it really that way???

In my country is swindle a big crime and woman (or male) go to jail for a long time. Telling somebody that you love them, with the intent to abuse them, is a serious CRIME. Often victums are left behind with a broken heart and no money left. Often this kind of criminals did this trick before and bathed themselfs in wealth.

  5. At first the construction wasn't that good, so the original bricks fall out. The repair was done by some amateur, probably no real construction repairman had time to do so. The condo had to be rented.... It isn't "new" for the farang guy, because in the west, we liked to use newspaper and plaster to repair such holes. Nothing to worry about, simply get the right worker.

  6. I am sorry for all those people and there families. I do NOT blame the driver of the bus.

I live near a high way, a bloody damned Thai high way. Not safe at all, bad road and even 90 km/h is to fast. Busses on the way to Chiang Mai pass on a regular basis, 6 till 10 busses in a row, driving fast on the right lane, 120 till 140 km/h.

    What do you think?
