  1. Rangers have won the race to sign Slovakia international Vladimir Weiss ahead of Old Firm rivals Celtic, as well as Stuttgart and Sampdoria.

    • City's turnover of players continues

The Manchester City winger has joined the Scottish champions on a one-year loan deal after being taken to the club's Murray Park training complex on Thursday, where the deal was finalised with Rangers chief executive Martin Bain.

The highly-rated 20-year-old is now set to go straight into the squad for Sunday's SPL clash with Hibernian at Easter Road.

He found himself in demand after impressing at the World Cup in South Africa this summer and his capture will be seen as a major coup for the Gers.

He becomes Walter Smith's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of James Beattie from Stoke last week.

Prior to Beattie, Smith had not purchased a player for two years but Weiss could soon be joined by Nikica Jelavic.

He looks to be on his way to Rangers after refusing to play for Rapid Vienna in their Europa League play-off tie against Aston Villa tonight.

Rangers agreed a fee with the Austrian club earlier in the week, reported to be around £4 million, and personal terms were agreed with the 24-year-old Croatian striker.

This kid Weiss, from what I've seen of him last season looks to be a good signing, just wish it was permanent.

Excellent against the hibees by all accounts

  2. Just stop watching it.....I made the decision a long time ago....and its proved to be the right one. I wouldn't give the f*ckwits who run the SFA a penny.

I agree............ well right up to kick off time!!!!!!!

  3. From what I have seen based on a couple visits there, you'd be hard pressed to find a working girl that ISN'T underage in Patts.

He is lucky he is not American. He'd be facing some serious time when he returned home.

Of course he is --- then again the US has been chasing a well known paedo for the past 40 years ---- yet \mr Polanski is still free. As OJ said "best legal system money can buy"........... He wasnt talking about hailand

  4. Both Britons are set to be extradited and Thai police said they were in discussions with the Japanese embassy over the Ogushi case.

It would be good if justice in Thailand could be halfway trusted. Guilty or not, I wouldn't trust the Thai courts with a traffic ticket, let alone cases such as these.

The Thai police are arresting Brits at the request of the British Embassy and they are to be extradited to UK. What is the point of the Thai bashing comment about Thai courts?

Maybe if farang police and farang immigrations back in farangland were doing their jobs these miscreants wouldn't be free and allowed to leave their countries to travel to Thailand where the Thai police end up cleaning up for the inept farang authorities.

Agreed - Thailand detains and may deport foreign scum at request of foreign government. GOOD news so far yet some posters decide to have a pop at Thais/Thai police/Thailand --- get a life.

There is no downside to catching and extraditing low-lifes from Thailand

  5. I haven't read any of these posts but want to vent my anger a little

My wife has just returned from the local market which is 2 km's from our house

There are two police road blocks to check for drink drivers on the stretch back to our house.

She was poodling along on a motorbike with our 4 year old daughter and noticed a car coming towards her but swerving from left to right all over the road.

This happened virtually on the police road block. My wife pulled off the road in fear of her life and stopped at the police roadblock.

The police stopped the car and my wife was curious as to what would happen to the driver..

All that happened was he was told to not drive the car and his passenger then got in the driver's seat and drove off.

The guy driving was absolutely blind drunk!

Was it good will by the BiB?

Or was he one of those types "above the law?" after all "it was a shiny new pick up truck"

This guy would definitely have killed someone or himself and the BiB did nothing!!

    I find it quite outrageous.

Note. My wife said no money changed hands either....maybe he was off duty???

Sounds like it was an off duty cop or local official :)

No Lights, No Helmets, weaving in and out of lanes, undertaking speeding, overloaded motorbikes -- A FAMILY OF FOUR OR FIVE ON A MBIKE - IS NOT CUTE IT IS <deleted> STUPID. As a motorcyclist of many years experience I get especially pissed off when I see children and often babies being transported by irresponsible adults --- yet the police do nothing -- they are too busy stopping farang tourists asking "where is your international riving permit" === of course that is resolved with the ubiquitous 'tip'.

  6. Taxation is not theft - it is a part of your obligation to do your share in an ordered society. You don't want to pay taxes?

    Go home!

    Easy...

he didn't pay his taxes and now he's going home. taxes should be avoided at all costs

In the ik they are used to bail out banks, award INVESTMENT wanke_rS AND PAY FOR mp'S EXPENSES.

And mony braw thanks to the meikle black deil

That danc'd awa wi' the Exciseman.

  7. Try looking up Bird-x on the internet and find out if their bird spikes are available in yur area. Glue them down in the roosting areas and in a day or so the birds will be gone. You might need to place them in any other shady areas where the birds might relocate to but they are very efficent at getting the pigeons to find another place to sit.

Bird-X also make a Electronic Bird Repeller which uses ultrasonic frequencies to drive the birds away. Not sure if either are available in Thailand - but you can order on amazon.com

  8. Souness or O'Dreary please. :)

Souness summed it up - Even Fergie and Wenger together couldn't do anything with the useless bunch of tits in the Scotland squad.

When was the last time Scotland produced a world class player.

This from the country who gave the world Law, Baxter, Dalgleish etc...... now we have nothing but numpties

  9. Pattaya a haven of filth and criminals , Tourists should beware . Parts of that place have its own smell that turn stomachs over. Good on the Daily Mail to highlight something that local media often try to hide, bad publicity.

    well

shit happens no matter where you live

    its not just Pattaya

Pattaya seems to have more than its fair share of filth. Foreigners are relatively safe compared to Thai women though, and what many of them experience, will never hit the newspapers ever.

Sadly much of the filth around not only Pattaya - but also Phuket and Samui are the foreigners !!! Lets not go Thai bashing because of the behavior of two miscreants.

In any tourist spot anywhere you need to have your wits about you.

  10. and guys - remember if this gets too political and heated, I will have to close it

MiG, you can't divorce international football from politics, whether with a small or large 'P'.

However, I for one would support you closing this thread, as it's probably the most divisive that I've ever seen on this forum.

The idea was simply to inform not to be divisive. The OP simply put up for discussion the idea that 'applause' is inappropriate when remembering fallen service personnel. It happened last month in a village in England when two fallen soldier were being repatriated. The 'applause' was given short shrift by the Legion and by the local townspeople. It has not happened again.

  11. Article originally by Andy Mcinnes

A FURIOUS row is brewing over how Falkirk and Celtic fans will be asked to show their respects at the Remembrance Day fixture on Sunday November 8.

Angry Bairns fans last night aired their fears on sports websites that a two minute applause rather than silence will be ordered by either the club or SPL officials before the game which will be shown live by ESPN kicks off.

One supporter posted a message saying he was " totally disgusted " at the thought of applauding and warned that such a move would make a farce of the day and would bring " bad publicity" for Scottish football as the match was being screened throughout the country.

While another called himself Bairn4life said " we should not give in to them ( Celtic) as it is supposed to be a time of reflection not joy " Another opposition fan declared : " It would be ridiculous if my club was to change things to suit a minority"

But last night Falkirk's Operations manager Keith Hogg insisted no decison had yet been taken on the issue and that they would be seeking guidance from the SPL .

" We haven't started our planning for the Celtic match yet." he added " In the past we have had applause to commemorate an individual as after the death of former player Paul McGrillen and we've also held a period of silence on other occasions when we felt that was the most appropriate action.

" We will be speaking to the SPL and seeking their guidance over the next couple of days before any decision is taken "

Last night SPL spokesman Greg Mailer revealed the issue would be raised today at a Board Meeting.

" As last year was the 90th anniversary of Armistace Day we teamed up with Poppy Scotland and asked clubs to do something special. But before that we did not dictate what anyone should do allowing individual clubs the choice between silence and applause.

    1. Celtic FC is the only senior club in British football that refuses to fly the Union flag over their stadium!

    2. Celtic FC does NOT allow British service personnel to wear their uniforms within their stadium!

    3. Last night you had the managers of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea & Hearts (None of whom come from these shores!) all wearing poppies to remember the dead and injured....and what about the ENGLISH manager of Celtic???? To HIS shame he DID NOT show the same respect!!!

    4. It is time that Celtic FC are named and shamed.... we need action......lets hear you voices.. Please, spread the word.

  12. Does anyone know if the new Michael Jackson Movie ' This is it' is now showing in Pattaya, I cannot find it anywhere online.

If so, where, and any information would be appreciated.

    Thanks is advance - PG

Will they show him having children in for his famous sleepovers???

he was a perv -- nice to see his family profiting from his death

  13. Nothing upset´s me anymore when it comes to Thai´s .. you just have to love them! 555 :)

Little did i know about Thailand and Thai culture 10 years ago so how could they know about this .. told GF about Hitler , WWII etc. couple of years ago and she had never heard about it so dont blame Thai People , blame the regime! :D

How could she not know about it? WWII is part of thai history. Thais sided with the Japanese, Japan sided with Germany (Hitler) Has she never heard of the infamous Thai/Burma Railway and the bridge over the River Kwai? We learnt in schools of the treatment afforded to allied prisoners of war at the hands of Thai and Japanese soldiers during the building of the Thai / Burma Railway from Bangkok through to burma

Roughly 10,000 Allied prisoners died on the notorious railway. Contrast with the 90,000 Thais and Burmese who perished -- sided with the Japs -- another rewriter of history.

  14. Hmmm TV can be a bit over the top with the truth (depends how they edit it)... I just hope they don't pull a fast one because it might be quite embarrassing for thailand. :)

I just hope they don't portray these fine upstanding, honest members of the Thai police in a bad light :D
