  1. Crap here we go at a discussion I don't feel like haha. The guy was wrong. Prostitution under the age of 18 is forbidden in Thailand and Cambodia nowadays under great international pressure. Almost worldwide prostitution is illegal under the age of 18 nowadays. In Spain you can have sex with girls from the age of twelve. In several american states from the age of 14. This goes for alot more countries in the world.

hel_l what am I even saying here... I am against prostitution below the age of 18 myself by the way... But there's no reason for violence and 14 is a big girl, she can say no herself.

  2. I think Villa sometimes carries smoked mackeral.

Villa does have smoked makeral and so does foodland... just had some, not bad at all :D

I go to Foodland every now and then for the backery, I like their Cracked Grain bread. Still it ain't great compared to what you buy in Holland but hey we're the experts, same goes for cheese :)

I never noticed the smoked mackerel! It's my favourite! I hope it's gonna be good / and the same thing I eat in Holland and mean by smoked mackerel.

  3. I make the best burgers in Thailand at home :)

Sometimes I feel like going to the mac but when I see what they ask for those lousy burgers of them I decide to stuff myself with my own burgers for a weak for the same price...

  4. So apart from smoked makarel, decent bread and cheese the only thing I really really miss living in Pattaya is being able to take a nice and quiet walk in nature.

I understand this is kind of a white people weekend family thing and thais don't go out for a walk but there has to be some place?!

So if anyone knows of a nice forest with some trails in it or a place where you can have a quiet walk along the coastline anywhere near Pattaya please let me know!

    :D

Sir; I have excellent news for you: the place you describe most certainly exists; this is what you do:

    1. Drive South on Sukhumvit Rd. towards Satahip.

    2. TURN left at the lights of SILVERLAKE VINEYARD. (right after the turnoff WatYaan, but before the turnoff Nongnooch)

    3. Drive Straight through Silverlake Vineyard and past the little "airport".

    4. About 1 minute later, you'll be driving through a National Park; look fo the entrance on your right.

    5. Park your car there and go for that walk through this Magic Forest (Initiative of HM the King, by the way)

This place will certainly blow your mind, because it is stunningly beautiful. You could walk for hours and not meet another human being; however, you could run into wild monkeys (they're totally non-dangerous), wild chickens and rabbits. Of course, there are a zilion birds. You'll walk by beautiful lakes and many very intersting tree, shrub and plant species.

So; nestled between Silverlake Vineyard and the unique new Eco-Villa develpment (just around the corner on Hwy-331) named The Wnery Villas Estate, there is a genuine piece of Heaven, which very, very few people know about.

From Pattaya, it takes no more than 15 minutes to get to this wonderfull destination.

You'll be glad you put your question here, because you are going to LOVE this Natoal Park Gem !

    Cheers,

    :)

Could you please point out the exact location of the park because I have a hard time locating it.

  6. I have maxnet premium in my house. Morning i can get some speed between 130kps to 280kps, afetrnoon mosthly no internet at all. Complained them many time, bot nothing happen. Finally they sent a mecanic to check out. But up to now, 4 months already, nothing happen. I think their whole service is a joke. All a rip off!

If you have a wireless router be sure you put a mighty fine password on it! What happens to alot of people (including me back in Holland) is that they just plug in their nice new wireless router from their ISP or the store and start internetting and complaining about bad speeds. This is because the rest of your neighbourhood is also able to recieve your wireless signal and is surfing for free on your bandwith wether this is on purpose or not. Often they don't even know, their own wireless reciever just took your router as the most convenient hotspot.

you acces your router setup by typing 192.168.1.1 in your browser and then you have to change the admin password somewhere. You can also disable the routers wireless function in here to be sure and just use the adsl cable to your PC. I bought a new router without wifi just to be sure.

  7. I got the 1199thb package with 4Mbps internationally and 5Mbps local speed, it took 9 days and all is working great now! Just have the line for 5 hours now but got 1mb/s download on a torrent at prime time 18.00hrs so if it all stays like this I am very satisfied. I did buy a new Linksys router instead of the free one I got from True but the setup was very easy.

  8. I live in Nirun Condo, Soi Arunothai near Carrefour supermarket. Beach and nightlife isn't far away. 5000thb a month. 30m2 rooms with aircon. Security and 2 pools. I haven't found anything better so far.

    Cheap hotels:

-Top Thai Hotel on a soi of walkingstreet (I believe soi white rose) they have a couple of rooms for 350thb a night, the rest is 700thb. Stayed there for 2 months and has a great time.

-Emery House on Soi Bukhao have 350thb rooms.

The beds in Top Thai are better but Emery is larger and has fridge.

  9. Allright so I currently have a wireless internet connection in Nirun Condo called Mamawifi. It sucks. Between 0.00 and 12.00 hrs I can get as much as 120kbs when I'm lucky and in between hardly any internet at all often. It includes reconnecting every 4hrs but it's more like every 30mins. It gets me what I want but it sucks and annoys me every day.

So I would like cable or ADSL internet and the 2 providers available are Maxnet and True.

True has a 1199thb package with 4Mbps internationally and 5Mbps local speed so it claims.

Maxnet has a 1000thb package with 5Mbps and doesn't want to tell anything about international speeds. Only that you share with 20 others.

True has a 1990thb package with 8Mbps internationally and 8Mbps local speed so it claims.

Maxnet has a 1490thb package with 10Mbps and doesn't want to tell anything about international speeds. Only that you share with 20 others.

    What I would like is:

-a connection that works 90% of the time, so it can be down 3 entire days a month and I will still be happy

-a connection that gives me at least 100kbps steady download at least 20hrs a day. So this would be 1% of the speed the 1490thb Maxnet promises...

Could some people please tell me about their experiences with both providers in Pattaya and if my wishes are reasonable and which package would be the best to pick.
