I just try to avoid to use any service where I feel cheated. If possible I use the medical service in my home country. It costs about the same and it is better than in Thailand. In Thailand you have some good doctors but also many bad doctors. I don't like to play lottery when I visit a doctor.

So, is this going to be 400 baht for tourists and 20 baht for Thais?
It is a small trek. I think it will cost 200 Baht.
But if you stay at home it is free for you. ????- 1

Very good that they try to help this area. The nature there is still very beautiful and the people friendly. More tourism in this area will help the local people there.

Is this a joke?

This man? Most thai drivers have this agenda, better to beat up or kill a taxi driver who had done some traffic error than lose face.
Last night a thai guy in a new SUV was blocking the soi I live in at my village by parking in the middle of the road.
I honked my horn and that made him furious, he came out of the car and acted like a maniac yelling and screaming, running back and forth.
I locked my doors and waited for the security guard to arrive.
No way I try to interfere with a lunatic who probably have a gun.
Obviously the psychiatrists have a lot more to do ????
I had a similar experience. I used my horn because another driver ignored my right of way and caused a dangerous situation. On the next traffic light this man came to me and gave me a slap in my face. So think twice before you use your horn or criticize somebody here. If they loose their face they often also loose their control.

Again with using this word. It has a negative connotation. Why do you use it?
What is negative with this word? If you feel like this you should never come to Thailand because mostly every Thai is using it.

Yes, Chinese are everywhere and here in Pattaya also many Indians (men :))
For those who know Cabbages & Condoms Hotel/Restaurant in Pattaya (it is not really cheap):
I went there yesterday and I was shocked how many Chinese customers were eating there. The tables were overflowing with food. Thailand is changing very quickly (unfortunately).- 10

Ill never understand angry stupid expats comments here, speaking so bad about Thailand and Thai people while living right there by own choice. Im an expats and im ashame of reading stupid comments unfounded and unproved. There are people uncivilized, and losing control everywhere, even in your country, does that mean the whole population of your country have a low intelligence? I wish no Thai people read those stupid comments. No wonder farangs are not accepted here, thats because of your stupidity and arrogance toward the country and people who welcome you despite everything you can think
Never criticize people here. They are loosing their face and after that they are loosing their control.

Being able to write Thai is a useful skill for me that meets a particular need.
You are able to write Thai? That is amazing. Read and speak ok, but write. I will never learn how to write and even many Thais are very bad in writing their own language.
The same sound can be produced by different letters and the resulting tone might differ depending of the letter combination. Its really hard to learn. -

THAT IS THE ANSWER, I GUESS.
it is important, becuase in other countries, and i think most europe, a tax resident - or anyone who stay in the country for more than 180 days a year - has to DECLARE ALL HIS ASSETS ALL OVER THE WORLD !!
You don't have to declare your assets. You have to declare your income.

If one had a heart attack or something in the US and had to be admitted to the ICU for two nights. The costs* would be something like these at a University Hospital.
*excluding physician fees, medication, scans, tests etc etc.
Room & Board: 2 nights @$6,285 = $13,570 (฿447,430)
Emergency Department Charges (critical care level) $3,508 (฿115,666)
Well over ฿550,000...and you haven’t even seen a doctor. God forbid you need surgery (and all the associated costs).
The US has the worst medical system in the developed world ????

I use Thai hospitals only if it is very urgent. If possible I try to use European hospitals. The quality of treatment is better and cost is lower. In Europe I feel that the doctor is thinking about my health. In Thailand I feel that the doctor is thinking about his bill.
In Thailand private hospitals focus too much on profit and they lack transparency. You will never know how much the treatment will cost at the end. You are totally in their hands. One big hospital chain (I don't mention the name ???? ) has a monopoly in many places. It lacks in competition.
All the costs, e.g. salaries, medicine, maintenance are much lower than in Europe, so why the cost of treatment is higher? They are too greedy!

It generally only takes them a few minutes to do the inspection, leave your book with them and make the appropriate payments (around 700bt for a motorbike) Then just go back next day after 4.00pm, or within 7 days to collect your log book with new entry, along with your renewed tax and insurance certificates. All very efficient. I used to go to the main centre out near Phoenix school but found the queuing and waits could be a pain.
No need to go to the DLT near Phoenix School as I stated already before.
You just can do it every Saturday in Central Festival yourself. No waiting!
