Just wanted to mention this was appointment came to me by email and not by SMS.

I am curious how long ago did you register and are you over 60?

At 9am I was ready to order Moderna on their Facebook page as advertised.

Sadly their webpage was overloaded right away - tried many times no luck...

Oh well I will keep trying.

I am in Chiang mai over 60 and have diabetes so hopefully something will soon work out.

I have signed up for the wall and expat sites also.

Have not received any email. Tried to email them back to confirm if it was from them. Bloody frustrating!!

What happened with me is I tried signing up with a couple different addresses over an hour and a bit and received an error.  Finally a couple hours later I tried my final email address I rarely use and it worked and did not give an error and it sent me an email link.  I then filled in the details.   I then started to receive emails from the other email addresses an hour later (not sure if the programmer started manually starting a process to send emails).  I would say keep trying new email addresses in the mean time every hour or so and keep an eye on your inbox and spam folders of your other email addresses.

After several hours the last email that i used worked.

Then I filled out the form which required some patience... as I had to upload two files - I finally figured out how to combine as a PDF and was able to upload that.

I am in Chiang mai and look forward to a local appointment and hopefully get Pfizer!

I assume the problem is you did not get a "work permit" - although you could have, except for the lack of a degree-proof?

 

If so, the problem is not with immigration, but with the labor folks.

Exactly and if so you and your employer are in the wrong but worst of all if you had done things correctly you would have been paid more...

When you work without a work permit you lose the high ground...

Plus you need a notarized form - $50? at the US consulate?

Exactly - I am seeking real-life examples.

A director can be on a board but I really hope that directors are working and very hard at that...

Directors can also be department heads such as marketing director.

For myself, a work permit is not an issue as I get them every two years and pay someone a fee to do all the paperwork - very easy.

But not having Thai shareholders could be a useful planning tool.

Seems it really just makes it easier for an established USA Company to open a branch office in Thailand provided it's business is not on the restricted list.

I read with interest the reports of Americans using the Amity treaty not needing work permits currently.

Any real life experiences out there?

If you had used DHL for example you simply provide a new invoice and they submit it for you - done.

With the post office the idea is the same but you need to do everything yourself.

You need to document the correct duty rate and get an adjustment made.

You can do it but it will take time an energy.

So it sounds like you are being overcharged about 4000 baht.

Is the time and energy worth it?

The american teachers that ride in it say the drivers if anything are too conservative, which I like.

I've seen them drive when I pick my son up and they are all good responsible drivers.

So he does go on the school outing, he wouldn't if I didn't trust them.

Sounds like a good situation and probably OK - anything less and I would not even consider letting my kids go in an unsafe situation - even though our school is similar to the above post I drive the kids to school daily and only let the kids go on the occasional field trip. For sports events again I will drive.

Nothing is more important than the safety of children - end of story...

Basically the above is what I have always understood to be true - with some exceptions.

I think the concept is simple the money from a prior year is savings not income.

The rule is aimed at husband/wife run businesses and these days probably only granted to small husband/wife businesses.

Husband/wife business is not a requirement - from experience in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

I am not aware of any rules regarding the size of a company - can anyone confirm current rules or are there no rules anymore as another poster stated?

Perhaps another province may be different?
