No mights about it mate, no one, whether it is insurance companies or lotteries are going to pay out big money if they can avoid it, small print, legal jargon, you name it. they are into it.

True, but a good lawyer would make a good argument with:

    stranded by covid

doesn't own a property out side UK but has one in UK ( house company owned)

visa is only for 12 months ( 9 now)

doesn't even own his car ( wife's name)

back in UK just 18 months ago before the bad stuff happened.

    back in UK now

Ed: but you and I both know that I will never be faced with that problem; what are the odds,  14 million to one?  More chance of snuffing it of covid I guess.

I made a rod for my own back when our small dog (maybe Schitzu cross?) who was very fussy about eating any of the good food we cooked for him, so I started giving him a small bite from my hand and once he got a taste he was OK to eat, so now he waits for me to give him his first mouthful by hand before he will start. He will just lay down alongside his food dish until I do it.

we are the same. The two Shih Tzus we have will normally only eat if fed by hand.  That's my wife's doing since they were puppies.  Bloody HiSo dogs, they get cooked chicken liver, which I love, do I get it, no, the damn dogs eat it before I get to it.  Asparagus tips, yes tips, leave the storks. They even have their own brand of French soft cheese to eat.   Bain of my life. Dont judge, it wasn't me, its her indoors. They are clearly baby substitutes now that she is none child bearing.  I suppose better HiSo dogs than babies. Back on topic;  For the OP, get to a new vet, fast!

When you say not eating properly , how long ?. I have 4 dogs 3 are rescues and I have had varying success with vets. I would ask around to try and find a really good experienced one. I have tried 5 different ones and then found a Veterinary practice run by a University teacher and she is first class.

local FB pages can give reviews on vets, good indicators.

he chaos and danger of infection with all those people in queue for hours on end is not a good solution

I agree,  but the registration system is a shambles and doesn't work, as the 5,000 who queued for 7 hours at Pattaya Stadium last week will testify. They had all registered and all had queue positions, that in the event were meaningless.

Have you considered visiting a vet?

If you are in Bangkok you can go i.e. to Chula Small Animal Hospital

Small Animal Teaching Hospital – Chulalongkorn University

    It's good and not expensive.

The Animal Hospital Kasetsart University is also good and not expensive.

Not sure if this is right, but the OP seems to be relying on the one vet.  If I had any love for my dog, I wouldn't accept any one vet telling me nothing is wrong.

I use Express, but the UK Lottery is still unavailable. And even if you can get round it, they would not pay out if you won a biggie.

Use Surfshark VPN, it works on the lottery, for now at least.

There ia ALOT more to Thailand than the old  beaten path and now boarded up tourist spots.

Why not go see further affield off that path, you might just be amazed and wonder why you didnt do it before.

I agree with that, but my advice would be to wait until next year to do it.

Finally...some GENUINE actionable news for foreigners!

In a press release yesterday, Thailand's deputy director of the Department of Disease Control, Dr Sopon Iamsirithaworn, announced that "high risk" foreigners (elderly and those with chronic diseases) will be able to register online to book vaccinations, beginning June 7th at www.thailandIntervac.com

See the press releases on Google Search by clicking this link

Don't blow it for everybody by attempting to register at the site before June 7th or it may get shut down the way Vimut Hospital shut down their online registration site!

Oh yes, don't scare it away by trying to register, that would be so bad that they shut it down out of spite.  Its pathetic how many apps and websites in this place either don't work at all, or crash at the slightest overuse.

I thought UK lottery blocked all ExpressVPN servers a good while ago, that was my experience anyway which is why I switched to Proton VPN. And for the smart Alecs I only do the hotpicks as all the prizes, with the exception of one, are below the threshold of formally claiming. Having said that, apart from the odd few quid I have won sweet fanny adams since I started doing it in 1994. But as they say "You have got to be in it to win it"

sorry, I mislead you, I use another VPN for the lottery. Surfshark.
