Two British Nationals Arrested for Illegally Working at Nightclub in Krabi
But Lou nobody was talking about Indians in Thailand, you specifically mentioned Indian business owners in Pattaya. And I was asking how you KNOW that they are Thai citizens. Strange that over a few years many chose to become business owners in the business graveyard of Pattaya. And instantly suffered the same fate of many before them, empty premises, no customers and no benefit. Have you spent much time in Pattaya and seen the empty Indian restaurants.?

Hey Bob, I'm coming back too
How do you know "he.lives life".? There's no proof of it, he's just enjoying getting people wound up. How much of what he says he gets up to do you believe.? As has been said no-one has to read or respond (I don't anymore) and he does no harm, so up to him and up to you.

Interesting and/or cheap bars in Bangkok
Myself I am not keen on the Plastic Paddy or Sports bars that proliferate nowadays, nor the girlie bars where a succession of charming young ladies are keen to know my name and where I'm from. So I am always keen to learn of other places that people might like to pass on. A few to start, if anyone is interested. A couple I've been in recently that I wasn't sure if they were still open New Cowboy Bar. lower down Soi 22. Cracking little bar if a bit lacking in punters, draught Tiger is cheap enough small bottles normal bkk price 120. Soi 26 opposite the Double Tree Hilton (they don't display a name) does a "pint" of draught Chang for 100. Black Swan Soi I9, decent place draught Heineken 130 all day, Tiger and Asahi same till 9 pm. Can't talk about cheap without adding The Old English by Thonglor BTS and their Draught Leo deal. Between 1pm - 3pm 45 a pint Between 3pm - 5pm 65 Between 5pm - 7pm 85 After 7 is a different story Buddy's bars at a few places along Sukhumvit, in Soi 22, nearby Soi 8 and Soi 20, does Guinness at 270 now still a relatively decent deal. And nice little boozers. There are various others doing daytime and happy hour deals, please share what you know.

Hey Bob, I'm coming back too
Like I more or less said, I don't understand why so many keep falling for it. The occasional one might be a laugh but continually is a bit much. Possibly he's starting to run out of topics.

Hey Bob, I'm coming back too
Don't know why so many continue to go on his threads. He is obviously just a pysse-taker, nothing is genuine he is very calculating and ready with some sort of twisted answer for everything.

Two British Nationals Arrested for Illegally Working at Nightclub in Krabi
Not being snarky Lou but how can you be sure of that, have you been round and interviewed them all.? I am including all the Indian restaurant owners in that. It does seem odd that so many Thai Indians would open up businesses in Pattaya in recent years.

Hotel or guest house
Well what did you end up paying and how was it.?

Two British Nationals Arrested for Illegally Working at Nightclub in Krabi
You describe yourself as tolerant after you have said "self-important and arrogant Brits" about two total strangers. Doesn't sound tolerant to me, more like nasty and snidey.

Songkran NOT in Pattaya
Chumphon only used to be for one day, probably still is. Phone a hotel there or tourist info.

Question for English Teachers
Again my statement was an ironic response to a daft question. Yes of course they have three different meanings they are three different phrases. Goodbye again all.
-
Question for English Teachers
Well thank you all for your responses, all I was actually looking for was to hear experiences of teaching English to classes of under sixteen years old. As I said, it was just curiosity which I will now have to learn to live with. Thanks again.

Question for English Teachers
Well this is a teaching forum. The thread is A Question for English Teachers. The first post asks a question beginning if you have taught in an English speaking country.................

Question for English Teachers
Other than that example I never noticed anything.

Question for English Teachers
I was being ironic, sorry about that.

Australian Tourist in Coma After Wading into Pattaya Sea While High on Marijuana
I was thinking the same. Without the must of bit.

Question for English Teachers
In my experience could of does not contract to anything, it is invariably fully and clearly pronounced. And could of when written is clearly meaningless to anyone with a basic understanding of English. It does not always indicate low literacy as the late ubonjoe, who was a prolific could of etc. man proved.

Question for English Teachers
The full point before the question mark comes from my earlier life as a compositor when we were trained in visual letter spacing. To my pedantic eye the question mark looks too close to the previous character so I insert the full point. Why would you think this is directed solely at English Teachers.?
-
Question for English Teachers
Just curiosity but if you have taught in an English speaking country are you required to correct people saying "could of, should of, would of" etc. How many have any understanding that this does not make sense.?

I had to come back to Thailand.
My life does not revolve around AN.

I had to come back to Thailand.
He's long since worn it out, he must see that himself. He must think that being an irritant is clever and amusing. I have only just realised he is back and can not be bothered reading the first 5 pages.

I had to come back to Thailand.
Very unlikely.

What Historic Bangkok Bars Do We Have Left?
Well there you go, could have sworn it was Ekamai. Possibly getting it confused with Bourbon St. Only went there the once, shame they moved it was a nice little bar.
