  1. Art of Food (not just Thai, but I have been here and recommend it)

    Bo Lan

    Issaya Siamese Club

    Long Table

    Nahm

    Salathip

    Sra Bua

    Soul Food

    Supanniga

I like Chef Vichit Mukura’s show on Channel 5, he is the executive chef at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, but not sure which of their restaurants (Sala Rim Naam?) would be best?

  2. Yes, you buy them all in one hit on a rabbit card.. Works out much cheaper but I can't remember the price.

1100 baht for 50 rides, 22 baht per ride.

Note that there is also a surcharge (10 baht per trip) for using any of the stations on the Bearing and/or Silom Line extensions.

Trips are good for 30 days so must be managed.

Also the Rabbit card issuance fee is scheduled to rise from 50 baht to 150 baht on 1/1/15.

  3. "However, People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) spokesman Akanat Promphan supported the newly elected charter drafters recruited under the quota of the National Legislative Assembly and the National Reform Council."

This should tell you enough about the NLA/NRC/CDC, and that the next Constitution will be acceptable to the PDRC and their sponsors, the Amart (aka: Good People )

  4. I can't answer your questions, but, based on my recollection of the hundreds of posts/threads here on True Online DOCSIS internet service, most seem very satisfied to extremely satisfied with the service.

How long have you had this service? Where are you located? Did it ever work acceptably? What is the exact make/model of your modem/router? Do you experience problems with a WiFI connection? Wired? Both? Are you using another device behind the True Cable modem? Is there any indication on the cable modem of an issue? What DNS server(s) are you using?

What are your results using: http://speedtest.trueinternet.co.th/

I would attempt to get a True Online technician on-site to trouble-shoot the problem, test the characteristics of the line and possible replace the modem.

Availability of other services would be highly dependent upon exact location.

  5. Maybe you should just email DTAC and ask for guidance/assistance? [email protected] Obviously include as much detail as possible.

I think it is relatively easy to get a new SIM, and link it to an existing number/account. But you have to prove you are the "owner", which might require registration, but often just proof of activity (recent top-ups, etc) is enough to prove ownership.

Sometimes they ask for a police report, but they are many reports of this requirement being loosely enforced.

  6. Not sure why they are trying to legitimize the prosecution of the previous government with all this obfuscation?

Just do what Thai Police/Military are so good at: Cart her off to a Military camp, use some "enhanced interrogation" techniques (water, electricity, plastic bag), get her to confess to whatever you want, then cart her out a rice warehouse with a helmet and vest and have her point at some dodgy rice. Case closed, problem solved.

  7. Why the need for another "new" constitution? Can't they just keep the interim charter, along with Martial Law? I mean, everything is fine, and 97% of the people are "Happy"

As an aside, is December 10 still a holiday? Which of the, too many to count, Constitutions does this "commemorate"? The one that lasted the longest?

And, can we get rid of the "Democracy" Monument, as it is clogging up traffic, maybe sell it to a real country as "almost unused".

  8. If you purchased it from the Google Play Store in the U.S.A. it is the D820 variant. This is the best model for the U.S., but it will work fine here in Thailand on GSM (900/1800), WCDMA (850/2100) and LTE Band 1 (2100).

It will not work on LTE/1800, which may be auctioned/built-out here sometime in the future.

You can buy a localized D821 here for 12,500 THB all in.

I love this case, BTW: http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Matte-Black-Flexible-Nexus/dp/B00FZ14E3S

  9. The army is always at a disadvantage because the government flounders around so much. A shoot to kill policy should be enforced in a 20km buffer zone along the border. Troop numbers should be increased in the buffer zone. An Isreali type security fence built and increased coastal patrols. Anyone in Thailand who wishes to leave should be allowed to. After a certain date anyone in Thailand who commits terrorist acts, supports terrorists or fails to identify terrorists should be terminated.

Bad idea. You'd have suicide bombers paralyzing Bangkok.

  10. How about they just privatise it and get it off the govt books.

What cost structure are they incurring to have costs like this? Crazy

This (privatisation; IPO, SET listing) was in the plans, and about to be executed circa 2006, but the Junta which deposed the government cancelled these plans.

They, TOT, like most State enterprises are relatively inefficient, lack focus and are run by Junta/Military/Politicians.

They should probably refocus on core networking/transport and jettison everything else.

They should be allowed to auction the spectrum they still hold.
