  1. Have they been here before ?

It is usual for the embassy to issue a 3 month visa prior to the 12 month ME.....However the final decision is with the embassy, you can try and see how you go.

She will still need to show a reason to return....however this may be covered by a statement from you in a covering letter or Stat dec.

No haven't been to Australia before.

my plan is to obtain citizenship by decent for our daughter, apply for tourist visa, then arrange for spouse visa

while in Australia, thought it might be easier this way since we are already married and have a child.

    however maybe im wrong.

    NB

  2. Would there be any difficulties in applying for a 12mth multiple entry tourist visa

    before a spouse visa application.

For my Thai wife and our 4 year old daughter both have thai passports in my name.

Have been together for 5 and half years provided monthly support for this period,

trips, photos evidence of relationship etc.

Would the embassy be asking the question your compelling reason to return to thailand

    NB :)

  3. I'll willingly pay the extra. If I could find bottles of Coopers at the supermarket for 100 baht or so, I'd get a dozen for home.

You can get them in six packs at Tops, pretty sure that they are cheaper than 190 a bottle.

Thanks Mad, I'll try and get some in the morrow (Tops - Central Pinkao).

    Soi 19 Sukhumvit under Robinsons.

  4. Generally how long after spouse visa has been approved does the visa need to be used.

    Any advise appreciated.

    NB :)

The entry date will be on the visa. But it is generally 12 months from the date the Embassy received the first documents for the application.

So....if they receive the medical report on the 4th October 2009......the final date for entry will be the 3rd October 2010.

If you put the application in prior to doing the medical at VFS on the 4th October 2009 and the Embassy receives it on the 7th October 2009 then the final entry date will be the 6th October 2010

    Thanks Graham,

Friend of mine had spouse visa approved within 11 weeks recently only new partner just over 12 months.

  5. Yep, the imported beers are a crazy price - cans of guinness from a supermarket are 4 times what you'd pay back home...

For something different and good, I'll willingly pay the extra. If I could find bottles of Coopers at the supermarket for 100 baht or so, I'd get a dozen for home.

Might have 1 with you on the 18th october be over for a few weeks

    NB :)

  6. There is no such beer type as "sparkling ale", it is something which coopers has invented. It most likely is just a slight variation of a Pale Ale.

It is a variation, very cloudy and a lot of sediment and very potent at 5.8%.

How's the flavour? They're about 190 baht (if I remember correctly) should I try another this Friday?

Very very over priced about 60 baht a bottle is equal on Australian prices.

  8. Although I have not tried their lager.

Cooper only ever made 1 lager premium i have never seen it or tasted it they are renowned for their ale's.

They had three types. A stout, and ale and one with a wierd name: fizzy ale - or something equally wierd... I'll find some pictures, hold on...

    2 ALE'S and a STOUT

  9. An Aussie I know told me it's 500 baht for fish and chips there. I said to him "Man, I didn't know Aussies liked fish and chips?"

He said, "I don't either, but at 500 Baht, it's sure to keep the Pommies out".

I have never heard of an aussie than didn't like fish and chips that's all they eat as takeaway.

    NB :)

  10. Last week I was at O'Malleys (I think that's the correct name?) at the end of backpacker heaven street.

Are you talking about khao san road,i avoid the place but may consider it if coopers is available.

  12. I need some basic Indian foodstuffs (mostly of a canned/bottled variety) and I really don't want to traipse all the way down to Pahurat. Are there any little Indian food stores somewhere along the Sukhumvit corridor? I'm looking for things such as basic Indian spices and bottled chutney that I am not finding in the regular food stores.

    Thanks.

Sukhumvit Soi 5,someone there will definatley point you in the right direction.
