Arrived Bali yesterday process so easy and streamline! But immigration officer asked me 20 questions , how long you stay, why are you here , where are you staying , do you have a return ticket and what date you leaving , then has my passport in his hand and says what’s your full name and date of birth , felt like saying you want me to submit to a cav.ty search as well , he could see my photo on my passport (mask down) I am regular visit to Thailand but won’t be going until they get rid of that Thailand Pass. I have been going to a well known hotel in Pattaya called Flipper lodge on soi 8 since 2004. When I wanted to book a test and go package about 1 month ago , they wanted me to email them a copy of the data page of my passport and also immunisation certificate , I didn’t book with them as sending and email which is unencrypted end to end you run the risk of cyber criminal intercepting and stealing your personal information I thought this was very odd , considering the info they requested would have to be uploaded by me to obtain a Thailand Pass ? Anyhow not coming back to Thailand until they do away with the Thailand pass, 1 night quarantine with PCR test and 5 day RAT test ,why not just allow fully vaccinated (3 shots) to only have a PCR test before they depart their country ?

I think your return ticket must comply with your initial 60 day visa otherwise when departing the UK the airline will not let you fly as they can be fined if allowing traveller to fly without appropriate visa . Either buy a ticket that allows changes or then just a one way ticket and a throw away cheap ticket for the return date to comply with your initial 60 days. www.onwardticket.com

Still too much bull <deleted> having to apply for entry , upload insurance, upload vaccination history , stay 1 night until PCR result negative even just did one before departure , when booking a approved hotel in Pattaya they want me to email all the previously said things that I uploaded to government website on an unencrypted email to them (including Copy of my passport data page ) which would be a cyber criminals dream come true , plus continued tracking, face masks , bars etc limited trading times , NO THANKS WILL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE , shame as I like Thailand and it’s people !

So with the 90 day reporting can it be done in any city ? I.e what if you moving around Thailand not staying in the same spot ? Also can you do your extension,in any city if moving around. thought about getting non o-A in Australia and when due for extension after 12months , just getting a non -o based on retirement

Hi , if I open a Thai bank account, when i transfer money from my Australian bank to Thailand I note there is a bank fee of 0.25% (or minimum 200 baht to a maximum 500baht ), can this fee be avoided if I transfer from Australia either AUD or TBH ? 2. I read somewhere to avoid the foreign card ATM withdrawal fee of 220 baht you can just go into the bank branch and withdraw over the counter to avoid the ATM fee and also withdraw more than the ATM maximum 25,000 3. Are there any banks that charge less than 220 baht atm fee and more than 25K withdrawal ? 4. Are there any banks that allow a foreign mobile number as part of their two factor identification (token) many thanks

I think that’s what I was misunderstanding that if I got a OA in Australia then after 12 months is up in Thailand that the 12 month extension if I apply in Thailand is also a OA , but it’s actually a non-o. Therefore no need for crim record or insurance when extending

‘I have asked the guy requesting advice about his longer term plans. If it was just for a 12 month or 2 year stay then that brings the Non O-A back into being good option. If we knew that exit and reentry was going to be simple in 12 months time, then obtaining 2 years out of a Non O-A seems good option. Edited just now by DrJack54 intnetion is to retire there on long term basis

Sorry I am not explaining myself to well, if I apply in Australia need the insurance , medical certificate , criminal record check but if I come to Thailand on a 30 day exempt , change over to 90mday non-o , then after 60 days apply for 12 month extension based on retirement (not OA), then while in Thailand do I need to produce a criminal record from Australia not more than 3 months old and notarised ( which would hard to get as I am in Thailand ) to thai immigration to get either the 90 day non-o or the 12 month extension based on retirement 2.so if applying Thailand I can get around not having to have insurance ?
