Inexcusable behavior. Does anyone know where in sri racha this was? Media always reluctant to name specifics for these violent outbursts

Comes down to tougher and more educational, logical driving test and hazard awareness. As a recent new driver here for my work, no matter how many allowances I make for other people's mistakes, I still feel like I could be wiped out of the game anytime by others. Saw immediate aftermath of 3 accidents coming back from Kanchanaburi at weekend-all pick ups I'd seen undertaking and overtaking recklessly. Hope incremental enforcement of traffic laws speeds up soon

The world is watching. Again. Hope school rep is not priority. Set a precedent, no bs fines, magical "Y" to undo disgrace etc. Hope for a heavy hand from the law...

I f***ing LOVE it when they make statements on behalf of other governments endorsing or praising LOS controversies or teaming up as bros! Spin that sh*t and the nation shall lap it up. *except TV members*

What holidays are these exactly... my company is open as usual. It is confising to understand Thai public holidays I think.
Many private companies (inc British-Thai company I work for) follow the banks for public hols,
We were off work today also. Nice to have hols but so soon after Songkran it's terrible for business...no decision making, everything delayed. "Mai pen rai" the masses only live for today

The roadside revellers with the
Hosepipe and buckets get more aggressive each year. I don't get it, what they hope to achieve blasting
People on motorbikes especially. Many backpacker type farang keenoks are now worse than Thais for this oblivious malicious stupidity.

Another needless waste of life. These vehicles are the scariest weapons on the road and why it is legal to carry passengers in the back of the truck is beyond me.

Whenever any statement goes out from an "official" or govt organisation here "assuring" something, I instantly think "oh <deleted>, the opposite is surely true then"
-
20 people rule enforced with the "me first" culture amongst locals? More like pack 'em in and count the bahts. When* it collapses we'll see the usual scapegoat game and how tourism will be affected
-
"Most accidents caused by Chinese are resulted from riders' lack of understanding of the Thai traffic regulations."
Hahaha.
What's to understand?
Oh crikey. In UK we're taught to never make anyone slow down, swerve or stop. Here it's bully tactics, cut everyone up, forget mirrors & blind spots just pull out & trust the other drivers will anticipate and react. I'm sure the flock of quality tourists are very self and spatially aware and everything will be absolutely fine

Sadly the masses are clueless about nutrition and think bread is healthy. Add to that the twisted fact that families (especially thai-chinese) think a fat kid is both good fortune AND indicates affluence to their peers...the poor kid is encouraged to be fat and they all "coo" over how cute he/she is. Often see the parents passing them donuts in the cashier queue at lotus. Then there's the hours of gaming in cafes totally sedentary lifestyles. Action needed.

A few weeks after songkran the drought situation will be described as critical and farmers made scapegoats. When the locals use water machine outside my condo they keep the button pressed until all water's depleted even if their bottle is filled. Just to "get money's worth"? Stop someone else using the 2baht's worth left?

The irony is never lost on me regarding the endless committees and official sounding investigative organisations that are set up by government in response to corruption and scandals. Said committees will then observe, talk about action and sit in ivory towers. More baht used by the govt coffers and taxpayer, but does it really yield any positive change or solve any problems?!

As lovely as they are, Thai girls invariably want a guy to be the centre of their universe. I.e. to disown all their friends and be with them everyday. Problem I have along with my friends is the drama they create when we're apart - the tracking, wanting text check-ins & updates on which bar we are in. I see a lot of Thai guys & some farangs taking selfies outside the bar as proof lol. This pushes guys away eventually and we come to resent the girl. I understand it though as so many Thai girls have been burned by "Jaoshoo" Thai guys cheating on them almost as a hobby, it is so engrained in Thai culture. My last gf couldn't name any of her friends (or own parents) that are in a long-term relationship or marriage whereby the Thai guy has not had giks and meanoi - but they justify it with statements like "at least her dad still provides for the family". Sad really, so many loveless marriages. Half the shit that goes on here with the serial cheating, mistresses, lovechilds seems almost socially acceptable..
Rant over.

Had a belter last week when taxi driver taking me to a meeting pulled over, in Thai he told me he felt lazy & wanted to go home. Revved his engine for a minute with doors locked staring at me, lip gurning from some drug or other. But then he let me out & didn't even accept the 40baht I offered. Nice normal
Bloke...

Don't see this historical citation as newsworthy and a shortened misleading headline! The economy, international relations and political stability in LOS are a powder keg right now... Articles like this bring bowl & spoon to mind.
-
So the plan is to plan a plan. I thought I might read a strategic proactive methodical solution. Songkran will go ahead in full force and for the rest of the year the locals on my soi will continue pointlessly "washing" the street each evening with a hosepipe

Dibble should reward themselves again a healthy 5 mil

Any government person of mediocre prominence can do any misdeed whatsoever. Just apologise after, blame someone else, cite a misunderstanding and chuck in a wai for good measure. Sexualised NYE state sponsored dancing. Daaaamn shame on you Sir!
-
Wading through back to back never ending photo shoots with selfie sticks galore. I cannot imagine a worse place for a countdown. At least the dibble shall be vigilant in keeping the masses safe...failing that can always switch into "fun police mode" and make mass arrests for drunk & disorderly or LM or whatever tickles their fancy really

Kudos to them against all adversity. Plus the most successful government of any country in the history of mankind with 99.9% approval ratings. Spin it, edit, censor and publish and I will lap it all up...
-
I wouldn't trust any uber or grabcar drivers to not be driving about pissed either. Motorsai will be a few Leos deep by midnight NYE too! Stay safe and make allowances for other people's mistakes...

Pick up toys, throw out of pram. Cry me a river

Bonuses all round for the big dogs then. Kickbacks +++ and the surplus 12million THB will go towards welfare, education, govt hospitals...or be swallowed up and unaccounted for? Yep.
Today is D-Day as police get tough on seatbelts and sitting in the back of pick-ups

Sitting in back of pick up truck Exception during songkran when it would save most lives. "Sanook" more important than "blot pie" I suppose. Local logic prevails.
