Thai PM to help in drugs fight

Featured Replies

Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has said during a one-day official visit to Cambodia that his country will help fund the construction of a drug rehab centre in Preah Sihanouk province. Gen Prayut met with Prime Minister Hun Sen yesterday for a joint cabinet retreat at the Peace Palace.

The two parties vowed to fight cross-border drug related crimes and human trafficking. The countries also signed two documents – one a statement on the joint cabinet retreat and the other an agreement on avoidance of overlapping taxation and tax fraud.

Speaking at a joint press conference after the meeting, Mr Hun Sen said a range of topics were covered in the talks. “We want all migrant workers to work legally in Thailand,” he said, adding that moves to legalise workers will help avoid cheating by brokers.

I think the word intent translates very differently into Thai, more like maybe's, ifs and at some stage - like the election.
