Customs officials at Suvarnabhumi airport have seized 28 pieces of elephant tusk worth four million baht.

Acting on a tip off coming from Africa they intercepted the illegal animal parts in a consignment with suspicious documentation.

The tusks had originated in Brazzaville, Congo and first were transported on Ethiopian Airlines flight ET861. They were then loaded onto flight ET628 in Addis Ababa.

The consignment weighed in at 41 kilos and is now in the safe keeping of park officials as the hunt for the animal parts trafficking gang begins.

so where was the intended final destination ? thailand, china ?

Exactly, why didn't they track the tusks to find out where & who they were destined for !!!

This has achieved nothing in actually stopping the illegal trade !
