Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd on Sunday shrugged off doubt about the election date raised by former Pheu Thai MP and former energy minister Pichai Naripthapant.

He said that politicians can think or say whatever they like, but the duty and responsibility of the government and the National Council for Peace and Order are to proceed in accordance with the political roadmap.

He added that he hopes the people would understand the government and the NCPO.

The only ones who are confused are those who take the PM's word as reported. The rest believe the election will happen some time in the 20 year plan.

I guess it can be fair to say that nobody can possibly understand the government. How ever, I find it very hard to believe that this can cause any confusion. A thing that everybody knows is a lie, is very hard to be confused about.

A thankless task, to have to defend the indefensible ?

Nothing to understand really. NO ELECTION. Again.

I guess the Thai gov't is a bit better than N.Korea's - but not by much.

The arrogance of this lot beggars belief. But, in the end, you get the government you deserve.

Lost in the speech

You should actually hope that people continue not to understand what you are doing, for if they become aware:   :hit-the-fan:

...because there is no election

And with few if any good options

Say again.............what election, when?

Seems that the current rulers want to make sure that whatever happens in the future, any election held (under the facade of 'democracy') will always be ruled by the military! That is the way of feudalism. 600 years of going nowhere is not about to change suddenly, the ruling classes will make sure of that!

There is a lot of truth in this, if you leave some words out:

Lt-Gen Sansern affirms there is no election

Unfortunately, the "you" is the minority who have absolute power over the majority. The "you" deserve the government they get because otherwise all that power would have been wasted. Someday the majority will get the government they deserve because they will occupy that government.

:cheesy::cheesy: Of course not we all know that it could be, maybe, possibly be sometimes, whenever but not confirmed. No confusion at all:omfg:

His lips are moving.

He is like Sean Spicer trying to defend his boss scandal generating personality disorder. Difference is that Sansern has 2 personality disorder bosses.

or at the beginning of the next 20 year plan or the 20 year plan after that

What's confusing? As long as the good Generals enjoy the power, there won't be any election.

I don't think the members of the government and/or the NCPO understand much about what they're doing. Hardly likely the people will.

Just shake my head in disbelief :cheesy::cheesy::clap2:If this was a comedy show you would make time to watch it every night

The only election that is going to happen is the one I have - an election before blekfast! ROFL

sheep controlled by wolves for the benefit of pigs.

Very sad.

I can not see any Thai movement that says this situation is no good and here are our ideas for change.

brainless drivel; if i were this guy's dog, i would run away

What can be done?  Thai press, please.......when these people call you to come and witness their wisdom, and there is none, could you just turn down the chance to report what they say?

When they are not given any coverage or credibility unless they deserve it they might reflect a little (I know!).  Just tell them 'you did not say anything worth putting in the paper/ broadcast/radio.'

Another sycophant on the bandwagon.

Ho hum.
