Dubai Tranfer times.

Looking for convenient flights to the UK in March. (Manchester)

Found some suitable times but with only a 1hour 15 minute transfer time through Dubai airport.

Not familiar with Dubai, I wonder is that achievable?

Also has anyone travelled with Oman Air through Muscat?

If you book with the same airline, they'll only allow legit connections.  And make sure you get to the next flight.

We had a long layover there a few years ago.  Getting from the remote terminal to the main one took about 2 hours.  Unreal.

Emirates straight through.

It doesn't state which terminals for arrival and departures.

You'll have no problems.  They won't let you book an onward flight if the connection time is too short.  And if you do miss the flight, they'll take care of you.  Very good airlines.

Enjoy your trip!

I would stay as far away from DXB for travel as possible.

First time I went to asia I flew via dubai, wow I have never been so thoroughly checked in my whole life and I travel to the US/China on the regular, and both of these places seem less of a "police state" than dubai.

Every single item in my bags were gone through and questioned, and they found some contraband as well lol. Nothing that is illegal in a civilized country.

Anyway they took a copy of my passport and sent me on my way, but I may be on a dubai blacklist now LOL. Wont ever find out though as I wont be transiting through the middle east ever again.

Emirates lounge and service was absolutely outstanding especially considering I was flying cattle class.

Had a delayed flight on another well known airline (BA) and missed my connection.

They took good care of me, booked me in a hotel where I got food poisoning, re-booked flights for the following day.

Lost a complete day and was sick for a week.

The claim is still pending for compensation, now in the hands of a UK solicitor.

Food poisoning happens.  Sad fact of life.  My wife flew Finn Air recently.  Missed her connection as it was really tight.  They gave her $20 Euros in coupons for food and drinks and booked her on another airline 2 hours later.  She sent a pic of her sipping champagne while waiting for the next flight. LOL

The flight from BKK to DXB is EK371 (night flight) and statistically has a good on-time record.

It arrives 6:00h at DXB and connect 7:15h to MAN.

In worst case: next flight to MAN would be at 14:40h.

I wouldn't worry and book in an instant if the price is good.

If Emirates have booked you through with a short transit time in Dubai I suggest you do not dawdle in Duty Free etc. Some transfers require long escalator climbs and descents in addition to the a short trip on the connecting railway between terminals.

If you are not at your departure gate 15 mins before departure your baggage will be offloaded pronto and you will have a problem.

Just bumping.

Maybe this question got lost?

(I have no first hand information)

We did it earlier this year.  Easy peasy.  Nice airline also.  Had some issues and dealt with their support staff.  Worked out great!

Oman are offering the best prices, but my reservations are;

1. Only 1 hour transfer time.

2. Reviews of the airline and airport are not good.

In recent years I've always booked 3 months in advance and been able to choose a number of flights at reasonable costs.

Even back in September when I started perusing, economy saver seats were already sold out on the best timed flights.

Economy flexi deals are a lot more expensive and I'll get the same seat anyways!

Add the fact that even though I can view the price in £'s, the payment is always in baht.

43 baht to £ now, compared to 54 baht to £ on my last UK trip.

I suppose I'm going to have to bite the bullet soon.

Appreciate your input gentlemen.

Going DXB on Emirates is fine, they have the whole terminal (3)

Best longes going and frequent upgrades.

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect

Very useful to know, thanks.

Also found this on Emirates website;

Inside Emirates Terminal 3

Emirates Terminal 3 is easily navigable, with clear signage and layout.

If you are connecting to another flight within 75 minutes, a dedicated team of people will escort you to your gate to make sure you board your next flight in time.

We had a short transfer time also.  So never got to pay much attention to the airport.  But it was OK.  Just another airport. LOL

The airline was OK.  We were very satisfied.  Not the best, but far from the worst.  I fly cattle class.  I don't notice huge differences from one airlines to another....well...on a few perhaps.

I have had a couple that are 'airline approved' of less than 75 mins. One was China Southern via Guangzhou. I saw the queue at immigration and thought i was going to miss but an immgration official appeared with a sign for my onward flight and processed me immediately. I had a Lufthansa transfer of 1 hour at Frankfurt, 1st leg was 20 min late and the gate for 2nd leg could hardly have been further away and it was a bus transfer to the plane as well so i missed it. Airline provided a meal voucher but it was a 3 hour wait for next flight. I guess short transfer times are a risk only if your overall journey is time critical.

Pretty tough to beat the entertainment on Emirates, particularly in coach.

Emirates (T3) immigration at DXB is crappy, but is significantly better than the others.

I bring my tablet and load it with stuff I want to watch, and a great set of headphones..  I hate watching a movie that's had stuff edited out.  LOL
