Rock star Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai resumed his cross-country charity run on Sunday from the starting point at Green Seaview Resort in Prachuap Khiri Khan province at 5am to Wat Thongchai Thammachak, a distance of 13.6 kilometres. He will run the second lap of 13.3 kilometres to Wat Angthong.

Many people were waiting along the route to cheer him and made cash donations during the morning run amid the sea breeze and coconut plantations in the background.

Artiwara plans to raise Bt700 million for 11 public hospitals during the campaign run from Betong district in Yala province to Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai – a total distance of 2,191 kilometres. He began his running campaign early this month and has managed to raise nearly Bt400 million so far.
