Just interested to know what makes a 'so called' teacher work in Thailand? Their wages are lower than their home country, working conditions appear lower. Alright the weather is good, but but there are so many other places in the World.

Actually if you get a job with an international school you are paid in either US$ or British pounds with all the health/apartment/flights/bonuses etc perks and you would be getting what you would back home with all the extras and gaining invaluable experience.

Those schools are only in the big cities. Unfortunately in smaller towns those options are not available. :o

Why do I constantly read here on Thaivisa how badly teachers are paid and the schools charging high fees? I have a little girl and am very worried about her being in contact with one of these pervert teachers. Fair comment yes?

Your concern for your daughter is admirable. However, it isn't a fair comment if you assumed that most of the teachers in Thailand are perverts; they are not (same goes for your country of origin). The man who claimed he had witnessed the death of Jon Benet Ramsey taught at two or more expensive private schools in Bangkok (for a short time, only).

If you pay top price, the classroom teachers will almost surely be native speakers of English, fully qualified, registered, and approved as professional educators in their home country. Then again, maybe not.

We have taught at wages that are considered low in our home countries, but high in Thailand, because we wanted to teach school. Most schools make big profits on foreign teachers. We come and teach here for various reasons, more of them personal than professional. Within the TEFL market worldwide, Thailand is considered a bad place, career wise, to teach.

I think this topic goes in the 'Teaching in Thailand' forum, and will move it.

Unfortunately, I am aware in recent memory of arrests/deportations/firings of sexually suspect teachers at every range of school up to and including the full "true blue" institutions. There's no place "safe."
