Handicapped parking permit

Anyone know how to get Permit.Have valid Permit from Texas if that make any difference.

i live in N/E province  tried for one, reply Thai only  having said that  if for parking no body

 

takes any notice   people just park any place they want to

I got a handicap sticker at our Lotus store from their customer desk.

      Having to use a wheelchair I get my driver to park in the disabled bays at Makro or Big C. This catches the attention of parking attendants, but as soon as they see my chair they smile and wave me on.

If you require a disabled badge for parking go to the drivers license office, most offices have disabled badges for cars.

I asked the same question some time ago. It seem’s the best possible route is to go to your local driving license center, I didn’t follow it through as it’s possible they would require your license back, as I often use mine as ID it didn’t seem worth it. I always park in disabled spaces without any issues.

Anyone with eyesight can see I have problems walking.

My friend in the Land Transportation Department advised me against applying, as it involves having to get a letter from a specialist, who is jus5 as likely to pull your license as give you the letter. I picked up a disabled sticker at Thai

Watsadu for ฿50 and affixed it under my rear-view mirror. It’s accepted by police at the airport and all the parking attendants.

Shouldn't be too difficult to get one here; millions already have them!  Although, they don't exactly park cars, more like abandon them.

Not sure for physically handicapped but for mentally handicapped it is available at your local DVLC and called "Driving License". It entitles you to park anywhere you like.

They do exist . I took my wife’s uncle who is disabled to the transport office to pick his badge up

Did your wife’s uncle have to provide anything, medical letter from hospital or certificate. Has he retained his driving license or was it required to be returned.

You say to collect his badge, do you have to order it or are they readily available or just under consideration while the cogs are in motion.

Lastly how long did this take from applying to collecting, and how much did it cost.

He saw a dr from the transport dept who decided he was disabled plus he brought proof from the hospital showing that he had a stroke.
I’m not sure about the driving licence as he has never driven apart from illegally with a motorcycle. He couldn’t drive now though.
It took about 4 weeks from start to finish. Once the badge was ready the process of pick up was very smooth. Even me as a farang was impressed

I have used one downloaded, works well for all carparks, and police as well if using no seat belt, i also gave a friend one who has serious medical problems and works good for him

Moo71, thanks for the reply, good idea, I did have a colour printer a few years ago but guess what they got borrowed by other family members and never seen it since. Today I was going out to get a new set of photographs for my frequent trips to Lao and was going to drop into the driving center but my sister in law has not shown up. Will suggest your way to her but pretty sure the printer is long gone or beyond repair.

memory stick and local print shop, took our car to lao a couple of weeks ago, and got priority parking at front of queue due to sticker

This is interesting.  Do you remember where you downloaded it from?

 

It's obvious that I'm disabled when I alight the vehicle, but whilst sitting in it as a passenger nobody would know.  Having said that we always park in disabled spaces and no-one bats an eyelid (I don't drive - I'm always in someone else's car or pick-up).

Its not forging as in any case a true one does not exist here, just a picture put on the windscreen

Moo71, just back from town, got new photographs passport size and a brand new handicapped parking sticker (laminated) all from the same photographic shop.

Thanks for your idea. Saved a trip and grief at the driving center.
