Not up to date on kids vaccinations

Featured Replies

It's suddenly come to my attention that my 9 and 7 yr old may not be up to date on there vaccinations.

Is it to late to get them now and what are the consequences of not doing it, they both are very healthy kids so should I go get them all done or not.

Also what do they vaccinate for in Thailand?

Thanks

There's a fair few I'll reconfirm with full list.

IPD being one and another one I forgot name. Diphtheria too I believe. IPD is optional I think.

I got the book outlining the lot so will get a photo of the actual schedule of injections page. which has the English abbreviations for all injections. I think 9 years is old is one of the last ages for them on that page. IPD is a course of injections over 9 years if recall correctly.

 Consult your Pediatrician for

Influenza vaccine (Age > 6 months)

Pneumococcal vaccineRotavirus vaccine (2 – 8 months old)Human Papillomavirus Virus (HPV) vaccine against cervical cancer (Age > 9 years)

I pulled that chart of the hospital link.

The one where it says (consult paediatrician for) believe indicates an optional vaccine as the one I mentioned before IPD and one I forgot; Rota virus were optional and administered together in months 3,5 & 7 and there are more in future. That IPD and rota is 14k for the whole course where we went (normal clinic) the payments were per injection. So 3500 at 3 months 3500 at 5 months etc.

Felt sorry for the lad those first 7 months he was injected every month as the other injections were also done on that chart. Believe the mandatory injections were 1900 baht per injection.

I'd ask the mod sheryl about this as you are maybe right to consider the consequences of these medications like adverse affects to children over a certain age. May be no issue at all but definitely worth checking out before hand.

No worries. I've used two clinics to date as we moved cities. One thing I note about injections at these two clinics is they quote prices based on per injection so it's important to ask about the course too. I would have done it anyway but I was a bit miffed that we were not given clear pricing and course of injection info.
