A woman in Ang Thong province was arrested after her drunk, knife-wielding husband was killed while she allegedly fought off an attack on her on Monday night, police said.

Sunee Pasaleh, 35, was arrested at her house in Muang district past midnight after she called police to the scene.

Sunee claimed she had tried to defend herself when her husband, Suwan Phochak, 42, tried to attack her with a knife.

Sunee said her husband was drunk when he returned from an annual Red Cross fair with friends. She said he was jealous and quarrelled with her.

Sunee said her husband accidentally stabbed himself during his fight with her. She told police she called 1669 emergency health line but he died before the emergency team arrived and hence had called police.

The Muang Ang Thong police chief said Sunee would be interrogated further before charges were filed against her.

Sad if her story is true then again more proof how bad some people can respond to alcohol. Bet this would not have happened if he was high on weed.. only thing he would have assaulted then was a mars bar.

Also real sad if true, getting attacked by your partner and having to kill him to defend yourself. People who can't handle their alcohol should not drink.
