Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) has issued a warning to members of the public to be aware of imposters claiming to be its inspectors asking to get into their houses to check leaked water pipes.

 

Rachirat Uthayo, director of MWA’s corporate communication, said Friday (Feb 2) that MWA had no policy to inspect suspected water pipe leaks in private households without formal request from the house owner and advanced appointment.

 

She said that it was possible that the imposters could be criminal elements and might commit crime when they managed to get into their houses.

If I. Had a water leak in the house I would know it as the pump would be running for no reason. Don't need anyone telling me I have a leak.
