The Meteorological Department issued the latest weather forecast Saturday saying the country’s upper region will be colder with temperatures dropping 4-6 degrees Celsius until February 8.

The forecast for the upper region which covers the northern, northeastern and central regions, including Bangkok and vicinity provinces, came as another round of strong cold spell from China is moving down to blanket Thailand’s upper region and the South China Sea at end of the week.

It said as the cold spell moves in, cold to coldest weather are expected in the country’s northern and northeastern regions, as well as frost is expected on high mountainous areas.

Nevermind the weather, the imminent swell of Chinese tourists poses a far greater environmental threat

First year in 3 ( or 4) that my room temperature didn't go below 20 C .  So despite all those "big drops" in temperature , we keep reading , this "winter" was too hot . ( two years ago lowest 14 in room , 11 outside ).

Up North , in a valley , not on a mountain. 14 is not cold , that's cool. Lots of times ,( years ago) , that I slept in the car and mornings between 11 to 15 C with wet windows inside.
