The Prime Minister’s Office caps were given to Chanthaburi residents yesterday who became followers of the Government House fanpage on Facebook.

Officials from the Government Spokesman’s Office handed the caps to everyone who pressed the “follow” button on their mobile phones.

The free caps were given out while some 2,000 local residents waited for Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha during his trip to an agricultural cooperative in Chanthaburi.

Many of the locals needed little help from officials on how to follow the Thai Khufah fanpage. The event helped boost the number of followers.

Security was tight at the cooperative in Makham district yesterday. Only people who had registered to attend the event in advance were allowed in and they had to pass through metal scanners.

The PM trying to buy popularity with free caps. That's called "bribery" in most languages except Thai and is ecompassed under the general term "corruption". And I thought the PM was trying to stop corruption.

Do as I say but don't do as I do.

no matter how shallow you think thais are, they can still surprise you, negatively

Criminal misuse of taxpayer money.

Try giving out watches and see the numbers grow plenty in stock.

ROFL about that huge blue arrow at the top of the page, which points at el generalissimo and basically asserts: "A true person with the voice of truth". Who comes up with this crap? One really has to see it to believe it.

That is not a political buttering activity.

No Really it isn't ?

Tight security, pre-registration and metal scanner and this guy still think he is popular. He is trap in his own fantasy.

Who comes up with it? I would guess stuffy old men at the summit of an unsustainable monoculture, who are trying to clamber on board social media with their arthritic limbs, luxuriously black combovers and saturnine demeanour, yet trying to be hip with the kids.

I don't know if Cliff Richard is available, but they might want to try and get him onboard, so they can show their wild and get down side...

Well done Generalissimo, for helping solve the increase in teen pregnancy.

Caps, I assume, they are Dutch Caps, whilst not 100% efficient have been shown as an effective method of contraception.

All dickheads should have one.

Dutch caps? I would rather have guessed tin foil hats embossed with the slogan "A True Person with the Voice of Truth: With Unending Love from Government House".

Hope this lot can read (Unlikely) as press the wrong button and it's 30 years in the slammer. Did the caps have <ickhead printed on them, if not they should have done.

Anything they can get for free they'd  press any button, its as  simple as  that, probably on sale on the local rag stall 5  minutes  later for 10 baht

Saw portraits of him at border crossings showing him has some great leader.   It was laughable.  These people are poorly traveled, insufficiently educated and completely deluded.  They just do not have, or care to seek out references of noble deeds or integrity from the world around them.
