Guilty poaching case offenders will be punished, says Prayut

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha vowed on Tuesday that those found guilty in the much-publiciseded suspected poaching case at Kanchaburi wildlife sanctuary will be punished.

Prayut said that the investigation and trial proceeding will be held according to the law.

“Anyone will be punished if they violated the laws. I have no power to intervene or do anything. I called for all authorities concerned to work with fairness and in line with the laws and justice.”

The premier was referring to the arrest of Premchai Karnasuta, who is president of Italian-Thai Development company, a huge listed construction company, in Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary in Kanchanaburi province early on Monday morning.

Carcasses of protected animals and rifles with ammunition were found at Premchai’s campsite.

Premchai and three other suspects have reportedly been charged with illegal poaching, hunting and possessing protected animals.

Please stop the charade, mister PM. Nobody believes these lies anymore.

Or you meant: anyone will be punished if they violated the laws, but depending on wealth and connection these punishments can be extremely low.

low-hanging publicity fruit for the govt, at a time when they are looking for anything considered positive;

this will end up a paper punishment; fines for people who will just financially laugh at them and suspended sentences (likely judges paid off) based on some absurdity such as first-time-offender

At least the violators were not twerking, so that will work in their favor, not to mention they are rich and connected.  The laws are pretty week on poaching, so he will just pay a very small fine and all will be forgotten.

Some will, one wont, the Black Leopard should have gotten

a hold of him,it could have fed for a month.

Same punishment as the watch collector dude?

In other words: Only the three underlings that reportedly were detained together with the obese ogre in the OP pic are going to face the music, while the latter is going to wriggle his way out of it without much effort or at most will receive a slap on the wrist.

BTW: If I were him, instead of going on nocturnal hunting sprees in wildlife sanctuaries he should rather sign up for an intensive slimming program and/or quit smoking, as he seems to have a serious circulation problem in his right foot and lower leg.

The case will be procrastinated and dragged on until the general public lose interest and he will be fined lightly and probably a suspended sentencing for his contribution to the nation. Just like watchgate. Prayut will ensure that.

Said with a straight-face.

Riiiiiiiiiight!

Wasn't  there another bigwig  poacher down in Prachuap KhiriKhan a while  back also? what happened  there? I recollect he took a photo of  himself at the time?

Keyword being those *found* guilty

Can you imagine the ITD boss twerking?

No, me neither, and I do have a wide-screen TV.

Good timing by the big wig poacher, might take another story from the headlines for awhile. Another story of a guilty fat cat escaping justice.

"The talk knows no end because you all only speak about the law."

Can anyone guess who said that on the 22nd of May, 2014? Here's a clue: he staged a coup moments after...

Prayut is delusional. There is no way known this honest man will be punished. It will be contrived that he will be the one who was on a relaxing walk in the forest and stumbled across the poachers and sounded the alert. Q.E.D.

Excellent! It was the date that gave it away though.

Is there just me, or are there four others as well? I don't want to arrested for unlawful assembly. Mind you, if it's all expenses paid, I won't have to worry about paying the fine.

Ah, I've got it! It must be a weekend at the "invitation" of Prayut to reconsider my wrongful criticism of his junta, err, government.

Can't wait!

Yeah. Alright. The same punishment meted out to two mushroom pickers? Fifteen years in clink? If only.:saai:
