Holiday in UK with daughter (8) without divorced mum

Featured Replies

I want to take my 8 year old daughter on holiday to UK without divorced mum. What paperwork do I need?

Do I need a letter of consent from mother (who has custody)?

Daughter has British and Thai passports

Thanks in advance for good info

Yes, you might not be allowed to leave the country without showing consent. Checks do happen.

I done this a few months ago (not divorced) without my wife. We obtained a letter from the local Amphor just incase. Letter never needed or asked for. I do believe they have made checks on others previously. I would have your daughter hand over both Thai & UK passports which might make it less of a chance of questions being asked.

I would also take her birth certificate with you. I was asked for this by the immigration officer. I did not have it with me but he let me through saying in future you must carry it.

Hello,

Is the letter you got from the Amphor a form ? Or a letter written by your wife notarized by the Amphor ?

In any case, could you provide me a copy of this letter (after having deleted the personal information).

Thank you.
