Featured Replies

Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday charged 29 suspects including 25 Thais and four Taiwanese nationals with fraud under aggravating circumstances for running Voice over Internet Protocol scams. Ngin Pech, deputy prosecutor of the municipal court, said yesterday that the 29 suspects were charged with fraud following their Friday arrests for operating VoIP scams in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district.

“We charged them with fraud under aggravating circumstances. We are preparing to send them to the investigating judge who will continue questioning them on Tuesday,” he said. “I have also asked the investigating judge to detain them,” he added, saying the suspects faced from two to five years in jail if found guilty.
