February 20, 20188 yr Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday charged 29 suspects including 25 Thais and four Taiwanese nationals with fraud under aggravating circumstances for running Voice over Internet Protocol scams. Ngin Pech, deputy prosecutor of the municipal court, said yesterday that the 29 suspects were charged with fraud following their Friday arrests for operating VoIP scams in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district. “We charged them with fraud under aggravating circumstances. We are preparing to send them to the investigating judge who will continue questioning them on Tuesday,” he said. “I have also asked the investigating judge to detain them,” he added, saying the suspects faced from two to five years in jail if found guilty. One Thai and two Taiwanese nationals were also arrested on Friday in Sihanoukville for operating VoIP scams in Bey commune. Mr Pech said at first he assumed the cases in Phnom Penh and Preah Sihanouk province were linked but after questioning the suspects, he realised they were different. read more http://www.khmertimeskh.com/50109475/foreign-fraudsters-face-court/ -- © Copyright Khmer Times 20/02 ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français ThaiVisa, it's also in French
