PHUKET:-- Myanmar workers in Kamala killed a king cobra today (Mar 7) after local residents became afraid that if one king cobra was caught, another might be searching for it.

A king cobra measuring four metres in length and weighing around seven kilograms was captured at a house in Kamala yesterday afternoon (Mar 6) while a second which seen nearby took off before rescue worker had a chance to catch it.

Kamala rescue workers today (Mar 7) went back to the worker camp on Soi Namtok Bangwan in Kamala, where the second king cobra had not been caught yesterday, to search for it again.
