Srivara receives a list of over 140,000 names calling for straightforward handling of Premchai’s case

 

 

A list of more than 140,000 people collected through change.org online campaign demanding the police to take legal actions against Italian-Thai Development Plc boss Premchai Karnasuta and his three hunting companions in a transparent and straightward manner was today (March 16) presented to the deputy national police chief, Pol Gen Srivara Ransibrahmanakul.

 

Seub Nakhasathien Foundation chairman Sasin chalermlarp and his representatives of environment and wildlife conservation groups handed the list of 142,189 names of supporters of the campaign to Pol Gen Srivara, who oversees the police handling the illegal hunting case against the four individuals.

 

Mr Sasin said the foundation and its supporters expected that the perpetrators would be punished by the law because the illegal hunting of protected wildlife species in the Thung Yai Naresuan wildlife sanctuary was an outrageous offence as the wildlife there is the property of all Thai people.

Wish these guys well.but Srivara is a complete crook and the pictures of he and Premchai show exactly the way his bread is buttered.

I don't think these 140,000 signatures will carry much weight against those 140,000 brown envelopes that probably have changed hands in the meantime.

For what its worth keep up the good fight, just let them know that the only respect they get is the shallow and empty from those of the same ilk.

So the score is 140 thousand to 7.5 billion. Let me see...

Srivara acknowledged receipt of the list and vows to straightforwardly handle the Premchai case after all the 140,000 signatures have been verified.

Not right to kill animals like this!

I would add my name to the list, but being a foreigner it would be more effective to add my cats footprint. Come to think of it they would both be ignored.

Didn’t a BIB get removed (inactive post) for charging these lot for killing a “protected species or wildlife”something like that)  As the law didn’t cover that?

Pol Capt Sumit charged Pramchai with cruelty to animals. But as the law didn't cover the black leopard per se as wild animals are not defined as “animals” in the context of the  Cruelty Against Animals Act, Sumit had to withdraw that complaint and was placed on "probation" - whatever that means. No mention was made of being transferred to an inactive post.

But there were laws relating to hunting in a wildlife sanctuary that did apply and alleged attempted bribery by Pramchai.
