The Meteorological Department on Monday (Mar 19) reissued a warning of summer storms that is expected to hit the country’s upper region from tomorrow until Friday. Bangkok will also be affected by summer storms from Wednesday.

In the fourth announcement, it said thunderstorms will come with gusty winds, hails in some areas and lightning strikes.

It said the country’s northeastern region will be hit first by summer storms from tomorrow, and followed by the eastern region the next day.

Weatherman keeps saying the North will get storms. Chiang Mai has had 1 hour of rain in the last month OR in the last 10-12 bad weather predictions.

Good , some clean air , we need it badly .

But boring , thunderstorm means computer out and often internet goes down.:saai:

So, on Wednesday there is a 80% chance of no rain where you are in CM & a 90% chance of no rain the following today, keep on sucking up that polluted air! The odds are low for clean fresh air!

Even a broken clock is right twice a day

These days if you want to have clean fresh air you should go to the eastern seaboard or

Thailand South. This should be a good advice. .

But if you have to live up north I would suggest buying an AQI-Meter.

It might open your eyes. Really.

And then, the next day you would order an Air Purifier.

You don't smell it. You can not read it anywhere, but it's her/there and everywhere.

No problem for many people, but for all of us not good.

We are living 20 km north of Phrae. Here the pollution starts at night, I think about 2 a.m.

and usually reamains untill 11 or 12 a.m. - No idea, where it comes from.

Not from slash and burn. No burning fields since many weeks...

But have a look at a pictuer.

279 is extreme high! for 2.5 micron particles....

So now you sit with closed windows and aircon indoors all day? Might as well live in a condo then, best ones are next to a mall me thinks.

With a bit of luck it will wash away the plastic bags and the 7/11 straws into the klongs and from there down to the sea while hosing down the air pollution particles at the same time. A great result. Thank God for nature!

Since I started 4 days ago to check with this AQI - meter I had to read : 210/270/170/140.

Always in the morning.

'closed windows and aircon indoors all day?' - 0K,  that's exactly one of my problems.

Indeed I don't know how to handle this.

We're living on the country side, no condo, no malls.

Thanks for your thoughts about 279.

There are so many areas in China much above.

So many millions of poor pitiable people...

Beijing is not always the worst...

Beijing Today. Not bad.PNG

never mind the AQI meter and Air purifier, you need more milk in that coffee ; )

AQI - meter.

Do you mind sharing where you bought the meter? I have looked but can't find one in the usual places.

Thanks

For farmers, they were warned to prepare for damages that could be caused by the storms to their crops.    Please anyone, what can I do to protect my tomato plants.

Just read the Thai visa weather site, you have time.

In Nongbualamphu province tonight. A little rain, some distant thunder and lightning and a five! hour power outage. Augers well for the rainy season does it not?

I guess those readings of 999 are because the sensors have some error, but maybe not..

For the rest i don't see that many readings above yours...I think you better wear a good mask all day and night or sit inside with windows closed and airpurifyer running.

Of course not.

It's a very good instrument.

May be instructions are in Thai.  Mai pen rai.

But take care with recharging via USB. Better not more than 1 Ampere.

Today I'm quite sure that (indicating 999) the real situation in these cases

will be above 500. - For a long time I thought it might be an error. But I'm afraid

it's not. - Sorry, for all of the people living in these dusty areas.

'Wearing a good mask...' -  If it's a good advice, then thanks, or irony?
