Clean-up underway in Phayao district after brutal storm

Soldiers and police were on Monday morning helping residents of Phayao’s Chiang Kham district after a severe storm the previous evening caused substantial damage.
 

Chiang Kham Wittayakhom School and many private residences lost parts of their roofs in high winds. Luan Srimul’s house in Ban Rongmai was all but destroyed.

Lieutenant Colonel Santiwong Chingdoung led troops of the 17th Infantry Regiment in a joint effort with police to clear debris and repair damage.

Relief bags containing daily essentials were distributed.

At press time, officials were still inspecting the damage and preparing an estimate of the cost.
