Man searching for his missing Thai wife

Kuala Lumpur - A salesman is pleading for information on his Thai wife who has not been in touch with him for close to a month.

The woman, Nittaya Chamnangam, 26, left the house in Kuantan on Feb 27 and has not been seen or heard from since.

Cheong Chun How, 24, said he was out at work that day when he received a call from his father saying that his wife had allegedly run away.

"I tried calling her but could not get through to her phone.

"I do not even know if she has gone back to Thailand," he told reporters at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department here on Monday.

Cheong, who has a five-month-old son with Nittaya, said he was now having trouble obtaining Malaysian citizenship for their son. "My son was born in Bangkok on Oct 28 last year and we returned to Malaysia once my wife recuperated.

"Now that she has disappeared, it makes it very difficult for me to get citizenship for him," he said.

Cheong said he suspected that his wife was suffering from post-natal depression. "We used to constantly argue after my son was born, but she did not show any signs that she was going to leave," he said.

Department head Michael Chong urged anyone with information on Nittaya to contact 03-2203 3888 or go to the nearest police station immediately.

24 year old son says his 26 year old step-mother has run away......sorry the post was a bit confusing, it is the father of the 26 year old man who informed him that his, the son's, wife had p..ssed off.

I wonder if he’s bothered getting on a plane, train or automobile, to come to Thailand to visit the ma and pa-in-law (without baby... that would be stupid)

if not... greenchairs post would have a bunch of validity... and we have previously seen bad things happen to thai slaves in Malaysia... so... possible imo.
