BANGKOK, 28th March 2018 (NNT) – The weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday (March 27th) has approved solutions to corruption problems in the state sector, as proposed by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).

The Government Spokesman, Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd, said the NCPO's proposal requires that the investigation process starts within seven days after a complaint is filed and terminates within 30 days.

Lt. Gen. Sansern added that the Prime Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, would like to thank public members who reported corrupt offences and clues, which have led to several investigations.

Lt. Gen. Sansern said heads of government offices must protect witnesses who are at risk during the investigation and prosecution of a corruption case.

Amazing, I know of one investigation that's been ongoing since December without resolution. I'm watching!

Looks as though the corruption investigation over missing assistance funds will now close.....they'll need years, not 30 days, to get to the bottom of this scam!

Why do they perpetuate the pretence about having 2 different meeting?

Aren't the same people on both committees?

The government has endorsed new measures to counter corruption in state offices with order to office heads that if irregularities and corruption have been lodged, they must act in seven days, and finish investigation in 30 days.

The new measures were agreed upon as new guidelines during the meeting between the National Council for Peace and Order and the Government chaired by Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday and that will apply at all state offices.

Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the meeting agreed that in case of complaints of irregularities and corruption are lodged, heads of state offices must appoint a fact-finding committee within a week to investigate.

This is no 'solution" but is a means whereby the rich, powerful and corrupt can stretch out an investigation until it "goes away".............and the poor Thai everyday folk have to put up with this nonsense from those "above the law" here.

Absolute poppycock.

wow, be careful Prayut and cronies. So even after several years they might be prosecuted in case somebody complains....? Again WOW. I reckon they did not think to the end...

This ranks alongside reducing road trauma.

Not going to happen! :coffee1:

They pat themselves on the back for have a meeting long before they attain any substantive results.   No wonder why nothing gets done in Thailand.   Wonder if it is not time to have an election.

i feel another probe coming...Jep mark mark..

Does NCPO Chief Prayut have to change chairs when he speaks as Prime Minister or sit in the same chair with two different title placards in front?

And how many years in power did it take them to get to this point?

(not that these new rules are going to be actually followed anyway...)

What have they been doing since 2014, busy shining their shoes and pinning medals?

There is no corruption in watch heaven .
