NACC is expected to rule on the wristwatch and diamond ring controversy March 29

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is due to decide on the controversy concerning Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon’s expensive wristwatches and a diamond ring Thursday afternoon (March 29).

The anti-graft watchdog will base its resolution on the findings of a panel which has spent four months investigating the case.

An informed source close to the NACC said that the investigation by the panel focused on two issues:  firstly, whether Gen Prawit, also Defence Minister, deliberately refused to declare the pricey wristwatches and the diamond ring to the NACC and, secondly, whether the wristwatches and diamond were ill-gotten gains.

4 months on something seemingly so simple !; friend of mine called thailand a 'fake country'; seems in this case we have a fake 'probe' invariably leading to 'fake justice'

The source further noted that the NACC had either of the two options:  it could vote to clear Gen Prawit of allegations or suspicion of wrongdoings or it could rule that it still has doubt over the pricey assets and then set up another panel to dig deeper into the case.

Right, another panel it is then.

The result of ole fatty and his amazing watch collection inquiry is.

Nothing to get excited about as it was just a misunderstanding.

This ought to be good. And pure B. S. expected. If anyone thinks this guy will be held responsible for his illicit wealth is on way too much ya ba.

does defy belief; oddly, this whole thing might clarify and confirm to many of us the type of place in which we live and how things here 'work'

It's obvious from the wording of the article that the findings will be a) that Prawit did not intentionally withhold information about his ownership of rings and watches (that was all a misunderstanding, with no malice aforethought) and b. the Committee are satisfied that no wrongdoing of any kind was involved in the acquisition of these items.

Case closed.

Happy now, peasants?!

This is what impunity looks like......

I await the ruling with unbaited breath; by the way, the image seems quite appropriate - "see no evil, ... ".

Excited about hearing this ruling and seeing him carted off to jail, Oh hang on just remember where we are and who he is.

Tim for the NACC to show some balls.

Though I'm anticipating them acting more like pussies.

Believe me, they will keep on delaying until some new case comes up.

Fairly sure he has nothing to worry about time will stand still .

And the winner is Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon by a split second :sorry:

[sarcasm mode:on]

When I translated 'fake probe' and 'fake justice' into Thai and then back into English, it just came up with 'misunderstanding'.

Odd.

[sarcasm mode:off]

Let me quess the outcome. The NACC ruled that the wrist watches and diamond ring were not his and therefore no need to declare. The NACC conclude that he must "return" those items back to the rightful owners or their families. Case close.

Verdict...no need to explain.....closed..:cheesy:

I can not understand this mans obsession for the time. His is gone long ago.

Of course, he will be found not guilty, and then he can start a process in court against all that have said that he was guilty. Welcome to Thailand, the country where money talks and corruption is a way of living.

I have not seen where all the items were surrendered for valuation and checking of manufacturers numbers and checking the sales information, easily detected by sales tax reporting?

Was any of this done to our knowledge?

With the level of education of some of these clowns (sorry clowns) he probably thinks as he is getting old he is buying himself more time.

What?  You mean a proper investigation? Are you serious?  555

Submarine deal - who care? Statues in a park ? No case! Red Bull Case? Suspect prancing around the globe.  Naughty Clergy?  Off to the USofA?  Human Trafficking? What Human Trafficking? We know where this is going - so I won't hold my breath.

He has nothing to fear when reading this story.
Since it took 20 years until a corrupt police officer was punished.
