17% on management fees!

Given the eye watering amount of cash which the lottery generates, someone is making a lot of money!

I'll bet it's not the people selling the tickets to the public...

Agreed. The price of a ticket is on par with tickets in the real world yet the prize is capped at barely 1-5% of what constitutes a jackpot elsewhere.

When will terminals appear in 7/11 etc and/or entry be possible online?

Edit: I've just realised this is an old thread!

Maths isn't a strong point over here. Just look at the ingredients in the food packaging, it never adds up to 100%!

50% of  me  agrees  with  that,  the  other  60% aint so  sure  though ???

Four years in government and still the military hasn't been able to sort out a lottery game.

Thank God, Buddha and the High Heavens that Thailand doesn't face external enemies...

It is worth an extra 10 baht just for the thrill of it..

The lottery sellers look pretty damn poor around my way.

My lucky number is *******

What is yours?

You right they look poor, they are not, many of them have a car and a few motorbikes at home. The law is changed but the overpricing continue same before, is not enough to change the law if none is ready to check out how the sellers respect it.

"Altogether 17 sections of the existing GLO Act were amended.  But the essence of the amendments concerns the allocation of lottery revenue, with 60 percent of the revenue from the sale of lottery tickets for each draw to be allocated as prize money; 22 percent to be sent to the state coffers; 17 percent as management fees."

60+22+17=99

I'm guessing the remaining 1% goes to the creative accountant who put the figures together?
