Dried squid ready to be shipped to Israel in two Air Express packages were found to contain 110 grams of crystal methamphetamine (“ice”) on Wednesday night.

A source at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport police station said Customs agents and Thailand Post officials showed police the drugs hidden inside the squid in 32 small plastic packets.

Thailand Post said routine X-ray screening revealed suspicious contents within the boxes, which had originated in Udon Thani. Custom officers were summoned to open and inspect the contents.

Police suspect a transnational drug ring could be involved, and authorities will be watching for a larger shipment similarly concealed.

Shipping squid to Israel. Very suspicious indeed.
Not Kosher !

Yep most be a huge international drug ring shipping 110 grams LOL TIT

110 grams, most probably a test shipment. They should have let this go through, ask the Israeli police just to shadow the recipient, and not mentioning anything about it. Now the larger shipment will not appear at this airport.

Actually, very much not Kosher unless they were trying to pass off the ICE as fins.

Yep put the Squid on Ice so it won't go bad   :cheesy:

I think you're ahead of most  of the thread readers.     But there's  also that matter of who claims the prize for the bust no matter how insignificant.

110 grams?   International shipment?    PLEASE..

Seafood from Udon Thani, delivered from it's bustling seaport and dried on it's white sand beaches :cheesy:

Anyone who has traveled to other countries and seen a customs form or 2 knows food items have all sorts of restrictions, almost guaranteed to be given a look-over.

Israel as the destination?  Probably some bozo backpacker.

The dried squid is smelly. Maybe they were hoping to fool doggie sniffers.
