Protest leaders Monday force Thammasat University’s gate open to supporters.

BANGKOK — Thammasat University refused to comment Wednesday on police instructions it press charges against protesters for minor property damage.

A day after Chana Songkhram police asked the university’s dean to “cooperate” by formally filing charges against the Democracy Restoration Group for cutting a lock to force the university’s gate open Monday evening, Assistant Dean Attasit Pankaew declined to comment, saying the school would “soon” issue a statement.

'Thitipong Somboonsin, a utility spokesman, said protesters powered their lights and speakers for 21 hours at the university’s expense. He said the estimated cost was 122.50 baht.'

Oh my God - what rogues, thieves and villains these demonstrators are! Prawit (with all his multi-million dollar watches) and the economic expert, Prayuth (with his unaccountable wealth), will surely scold these students and protesters most forcefully and lock them up for bringing the entire Thai economy to a state of near collapse by running up an electricity bill of 122.50 (don't forget the .50!) baht.

Petty, petty and even more pathetic people indeed (and I don't mean the demonstrators)!

On Tuesday, the electrical authority filed charges against protesters – also after a police request – for “stealing” more than 100 baht of electricity from university outlets.

Thitipong Somboonsin, a utility spokesman, said protesters powered their lights and speakers for 21 hours at the university’s expense. He said the estimated cost was 122.50 baht.

Thats cheap!!! I’ll pay them 150 baht then they can go away unless they can prove who charged what etc - If not  they’re gonna have to charge every protester that was there the 122.5 baht divided by ? And prosecute everyone of them - that should be fun - numpties ??

“The university sees that the incident happened in a chaotic situation, and the damages were only minor,” read the unsigned statement. “Therefore, we will not file charges against the students and protesters.”

It went on to thank the police for their “advice” and said it will try seek improved communication with the protest group.[unquote]

RTP. The best police force money can buy.
