Phuket marine chief warns operators about boat safety during severe weather

The chief of the Phuket Marine Office has ordered authorities at all ports and piers, as well as the boat operators, to be careful heading out to sea, including today (June 20).

 

Phuket Marine Office Chief, Surat Sirisaiyat, says “according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) Office, strong winds and waves are still affecting the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand until today (June 20).”

Phuket jet-ski, parasail operators threatened for operating in strong waves

PHUKET: The Phuket Marine Office Chief has issued a warning threatening to fine jet-ski operators and parasail boats who allow their vessels out onto the water during the strong waves Phuket has been expereienceing for the past week.

 

The warning, numbered 16/2560, was issued yesterday (June 19), following the foul weather battering Phuket since last Thursday (June 14).

 

The warning is in effect for yesterday and today.
