Can a 30 day overstay be cleared by doing a border run? (Not myself)

Requirements, except the 15,000 baht fee?

Which borders to be recommended near Bangkok?

Flying out from BKK airport is the best option. You might not be able to clear a long overstay at a land border and there’s the risk being detained, prosecuted, deported and banned.

Absolutely they should fly out asap, before possibly being caught.  There will be no "ban" for only 30-days if not caught before they show up at airport-immigration.  Get there early, so plenty of time (though it should be routine). 

 

The flight can be a cheap flight to somewhere nearby - like Malaysia, Vietnam, or Cambodia - but Laos is reported to not allow boarding for Thai overstayers.

 

Note that many transports to land-borders may be stopped, and passports checked en-route - in addition to possible issues with border-staff upon attempting to pay the fine and exit.   Do not risk this.

If wants to do it at a land border crossing he could contact this company that does border runs to Myanmar and Cambodia. https://www.thaivisaservice.com/ He would need to contact them since his overstay is longer than 20 days.

How do people get into these problems anyway? 
I can understand a day or two, but a month and then worrying about it later? ?

Anyone can do a mistakes, he did, so he now he ask what the best issues to resolves it.

There's many reason, have problem with bank/credit card, doesn't work & can't leave Thailand at time..

Being sick..

Being into love.. 

 

But right if it's voluntary overstay and have way to go out at the right time, yes it's very stupid.
