Puttipat’s wife out of danger

 

 

Wassana Tapaopong, wife of Puttipat Lertchaowasit, former permanent secretary for social development and human security, was declared out of danger after a drug overdose in an apparent suicide bid on Friday.

 

Puttipat, 59, was found dead in a bedroom on the second floor of their residence in Pathum Thani Friday morning. Ms Wassana was also found in the bedroom in serious condition.

 

Both were believed to have swollowed pills with alcohol. Two glasses of wine were found beside their bed.

Can't find a better hospital picture?

She and her husband lived the 'good life' by stealing from the most destitute in Thailand.

 

How many of the poorest of the poor went without because of them? How many handicapped people suffered because of them? How many AIDS patients died or suffered because of them? How many elderly Thais had terrible final years because of them? How many families underwent massive sacrifices because of them? How many kids had malnutrition/under nutrition because of them? How many kids couldn't go to school because of the monies they stole? How many kids couldn't visit a doctor because of them?

 

I have no sympathy for her.

The corruption chooks coming home to roost. This one was the Permanent Secretary of the Department and under investigation for embezzling funds intended to go to the destitute. Maybe he fell on his sword to save the Minister, who knows?

These people have rarely paid a penny of tax in their life yet avail themselves of the free instructure that honest people have paid for.

How much tax do you cintribute to thai coffers to thank thais for them allowing you to reside in their country despite your ingratitude and disrespect you show show for them?

For heaven's sake what are you on about? 

What has on earth has the Cayman Islands and crooked tax avoiding Brits got to do with a story about a senior Thai civil servant who is under investigation for stealing funds from  the poor and destitute and who chooses to commit suicide.

Get back on track. I see from your history you love a bit of expat farang bashing. You are obviously desperate for an excuse on this occasion. 

Presumably you think it is OK for Thai senior civil servants to steal money belonging to the Thai poor and destitute. Thais stealing from Thais has no possible connection with Brits stealing from the tax office. Get a grip!

A wonderful, selfless and great man. Just look at all those medals.

Maybe the last one was awarded prehumously  in advance of him taking one for the he team, thus protecting the corrupt filth higher up the food chain.

Very well said, and I hope she gets prosecuted and get's very severe punishment, like life with no chance of parole.

 

Does Thai law have a ' life (etc.) with hard labour' punishment? Hope so.

this is about Thailand, if you want to bitch about other countries or other subjects then go to their pages, try sticking to what this is about. Really pathetic the way you need to apologize for all the criminal/stupid elements in Thailand & try to change the subjects constantly, we live here, we know there is good and bad but we accept it, you dont, suggest if it is too much for you to accept the faults of Thailand then  you should take your own advice you give everyone else and leave. In regards to the op, I hope they seize everything they owned/transferred to family and not simply allow their family to keep any of the stolen monies.

It is a new low standard for ThaiVisa to use a picture that is in breech of the Geneva Conventions and International Law.... incorrect usage of the Protected Emblem of the International Committee of the Red Cross!!!

Is there anything going wrong in Thailand where you don't find an apology for? FYI the tax robbing individuals and companies are having an even better time in Thailand using and abusing the favorable laws for the " right" people here. Do you get paid for writing all these things and making a public fool out of yourself?

I was too slow to inc this in my previous post...

Just another day in Thailand of corruption and greed by someone who climbed the ladder to get his sticky fingers in a bigger pot.a thieving coward of the highest degree.if proved the family should be stripped to the bone of any money/property and put back in the coffers.the corruption is so old and deep that it's part of the norm for Thais and will take generations to stop.until then the country will be run by the likes of this person.thinking about it I have no idea how Thailand has got this far.as for her I hope she gets a long stretch and works on a som tam stool when and if she gets released.they should make an example of her and the family who will of course had some of the cake.hopefully she will wake up and realise what a horror story she will be in for the rest of her life.

He belongs to that special group of Thai apologists who seem, for whatever reason to have to ‘defend’ everything Thai, regardless of how blatant or egregious it may be. It always makes me wonder why.
