Hello all,

I have read the new rules for Visas in Thailand and I am a little confused. If I get a 30 day stamp for 2 months straight and then get a 60 tourist visa the time after can I get another 2 consecutive 30 day entry stamp visas or does that violate the new rules/ laws. Basically I'm just asking if I have to leave the country if I have 3 30 day stamps with a 2 month Visa in between the 3 30 day ones. I know this is a rookie as question and I might not have stated the question that well but any info explaining the new law to me would help.

Thanks

The basic rule is that you are limited to 90 days in the previous 180 days for 30 day visa exempt stamps. Tourist visas do not count towards this 90 day total. Two 30 day stamps + one 60 day toursit visa + two more 30 day stamps does not appear to exceed this limit.

You will have to do a 30day extension on the tourist Visa otherwise the last 30day stamp will take you over the 90 day in any 180 day rule.

:o Yes, you're right. Sorry, I miscalculated.

Although... I think the best option is to take three 30 day visa exempt entries first, and then get a 60 day tourist visa after the third 30 day stamp. Then you can extend the tourist visa for another 30 days if necessary, and then go back to 30 day visa exempt entries if you want to after that.
