After the completion of the search and rescue operations, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation will carry out rehabilitation of Tham Luang cave to repair all the damage inflicted on the cave by the operations and to upgrade it into a national park.

Mr Jongklai Worapongsathorn, the department’s deputy director-general, said today that Minister of National Resources and Environment Gen Surasak Kanchanarat, has assigned the department to work out short-term and medium-term plans to rehabilitate Tham Luang cave and its landscape and to repair all the damage inflicted on the cave during the search and rescue operations,  such as holes drilled through cave wall.

He said the department had set sight on further developing the cave into a tourist destination, adding that the cave has the potential to attract tourists.

With dual pricing. For foreigners this means paying double the price to risk one's life by entering the cave. Whereas Thais can risk their lives for just half that price.

Double the price 10X you mean!

Drink a case of beer, a few bottles of Lao Cau, and then you and your buddies stumble your way through a cave. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Whatever, I never enter because of their racist policy so I am never really sure.

If it is 10X then that makes it even more of a bargain for Thais to risk their lives by entering.

In any case I guess they will be promoting the cave and capitalizing on all the publicity it has received over the last week or so. Mercenary, money grasping lot they are.

WOW, are they going to send it to a rehabilitation camp?

Naughty Naughty cave, don't do this again...................

Jokes aside, amazing, poor boys are still in mortal danger and all some folks can see is the potential tourist $$$$ due to the worldwide publicity.

Hey wouldn't you get even more money by starting to bus in the Chinese while the kids are in, maybe even keepnthem there forever as attractions.

Anything goes to the altar of the holy god of tourism.

a film for sure is to come out of this.

First "The Beach" and now "The Cave".  Leonardo DiCaprio can star in the new film as Rick Stanton or John Volanthen.

Harold Nesland ex wife curvaceous Nong Nat can play the wife of a Thai Navy seal.:cheesy:
